Could be worse

Hard to slam on a QB like Dalton because of one game..

consensus is cinci has enough talent to go deep into the playoffs the last 3 seasons but cant because they don't have a good qb. Probably an unfair assessment when you compare him to the lions situation where their fan base says "thank god we finally have a qb" yet Dalton has finished higher than Stafford in qb rating the last 2 years. Not saying Dalton is necessarily better than Stafford but he has produced as a 2nd round pick for them at a level that our #1 overall pick making $100 mil has. Dalton makes 900k a year. So unless Stafford figures it out....cinci is in a much better situation with Dalton than we are.

Dalton makes more than 900K a year.

And who has more weapons? Going into the this year, if you look at both teams offense, who would you rather have? If you say Detroit, you're lying through your teeth.

This board is getting to hard to follow. People completely change their opinion based on what they are trying to argue. One minute Mayhew has completed one of the best teams. Before the season we had one of the best olines, one of the best 1/2 RB combos, best WR in the league, best FA WR signing this year, broyles was going to be a great #3, and Ebron was a matchup nightmare that was going to be an elite TE.

Now its well we aren't as talented as Cinci.

I always think the same thing. If defending Stafford the team doesn't have enough talent, if defending Mayhew its the Lions are loaded.

then theres the reality of Stafford is an average qb and mayhew isn't a very good gm. So when you debunk all of their theories that contradict each other....they start to throw out things like wind, santa anas, fluke, luck and bad calls by refs.

Sign of a poor team is when you have to constantly make up new excuses.

Stafford vs Dalton
bush vs Bernard
bell vs hill
cj vs green
tate vs sanu
top 10 overall pick match up nightmare vs gresham

its hard to argue for any of cincis players. Which one do you take over our guy? Id do Bernard over Bush merely due to age....but that's about it. A different rb on this team isn't going to help much anyways.

Obviously directed at me..lol.

All I'm saying is that if you were to look at the Bengals O and the Lions O side by side, who do you like better? Hands down the Bengals have the better O on paper. That's not a knock on Detroit...it's just fact.

1) Calvin vs AJ Green = Edge to Calvin, but not by much
2) Marvin Jones vs Tate = Pretty close again, but probably Jones. He turned it on last year. Tate showed promise in a run-first Seattle team. He was more of a wait and see for me.
3) Sanu vs Ross/Broyles/Jones/whoever = Sanu and it's not even close
4) Gresham/Eifert vs Ebron/Fauria/Pettigrew = On talent alone, the Bengals have the better group IMO. Ebron was never going to be ELITE year one, Fauria is a redzone threat and that is all, while Pettigrew is a blocker. Eifert and Gresham can open the field a little more and are very athletic.
5) Bush/Bell vs Bernard/Hill = Bengals hands down. Gio is a dynamo and Hill is a workhorse. Bush is on his last legs and Bell is a nice change of pace back.

And everybody on this board (mostly) have claimed that Dalton is better than Stafford anyways..lol. So what's the issue?

Before the year started? Easy...

Stafford
Bernard
Hill
CJ
Sanu
Gresham

Not a knock on Detroit's Offense whatsoever.

You're wrong though. Stafford does have enough weapons...finally. In the past he didn't. Now he does.

And who says the Lions are loaded with talent?

Dalton got a 6 year 96 million contract. They just backloaded the base salary.

They are tied to Dalton until 2016 just like the Lions with Stafford.

17 mil guaranteed and hes owed chump change after 2016. much better situation than the lions. not to mention the value piece....Dalton was a 2nd rounder....Stafford was #1 overall and Dalton has outproduced him.

Both are tied to their QB through 2015. Just like Detroit. Dalton did not get chump change. 96 million.

Dalton has not outproduced him either. Stafford leads this offense. Dalton is along for the ride.

Outperformed him how?

Same number of playoff wins -0
Amazingly similar numbers all around.

Not sure you could say he has outperformed him when everything you rip on Stafford for....Dalton does.

Oh yeah, you're a troll........got it.

Stafford has better numbers. 3rd down, leading a team down field with yards. Stafford asked to do way more and does it better.

It's obvious Stafford outperformed a ton of QBs.

3rd in yards (due to all the first downs and reliance on him alone). 6th in TDs. Stafford is the man. Not a troll, just know the circumstances

better numbers QBR QB rating and making the playoffs.

Stafford has sucked ass and pissed the season away. Dalton pisses the playoffs away in a tougher division. Stafford cant win the division in the weakest division in football led by mcown and Flynn.

The fact you don't realize going to the playoffs isn't better than coming in 3rd place in your shitty division makes you worse than a troll....means you know literally nothing about football and you just post stupid bullshit to get a rise out of people. Way to make yourself look like a fucking moron.

you think a 2nd round pick should have "amazingly similar numbers all around" as a #1 overall pick that's the highest paid qb in football? yaaa...youre intelligent.

He has worse numbers the last 2 years...I already showed you them. open your eyes fucktard. Dalton has had a worse start to this season than staff...but barely. Basically like comparing who is closer to being a top 16 qb....yippie.

we already debunked your 3rd down bullshit that you keep bringin up even though hes not good on 3rd down...just stop it.

"leading a team down field with yards" wtf is that bullshit? lmao. yards dotn matter if you cant put up points....Stafford cant put up shit on the scoreboard.

Its obvious Stafford is a top 20 qb.
