Detroit Vs. San Diego Game #98, July 22nd, 2023

Why is this clown still pitching? Come on AJ. Holy crap
What dummy manager.

They had no one up and throwing. How stupid is that ?
No way he should have started this inning.

I have been questioning some of AJ moves. Like last game when Tigers needed a base runner, they PH for Baddoo with Ibanez instead of Cabrera a much better average batter. Granted I could have tied up the game with a Homer wile Cabrera is limited these days but Tigers need base runners. IMO Cabrera was a much better choice..

Damn, this game went to shit in a hurry.

Jest got home and finding the games underachievement. Most regrettable. Wow have not used some words like these in some time. Glsd I missed the nightmare. Reading this is hard enough Moving on to the next tear Drop.

Seen enough of Baddoo too. That at bat with bases loaded and no outs last Night told me
All I need ro know about him going forward. 3-2 count and not ready for a fast ball is and was a joke.

I'm so pissed we treat tiger rookies with kid gloves. Just frustrating I guess.

Thumbs up and agree!

I respect playing Short for defense but..
since 6/1

its not new..its kind of sad
if you had a good offense...I can understand it..you don't..

Matt Manning since returning from injury:
- 23.0 innings pitched
- 7 earned runs
- 3.04 ERA
- 16 strikeouts
- 7 walks
Matt Manning on the mound today. His curveball has been among the best in the league. Of the 206 pitchers who have thrown one in at least 10 PA, his 5 RV is 8th best and his 4.5 RV/100 is 4th best.
San Diego happens to have a .301 wOBA, 8th best, when facing a curveball.

Riley Greene?s advice to Tigers? top draft pick: Just live your dream.

Trade interest in Tigers OF/DH Kerry Carpenter is robust, but rival execs expect Detroit to keep him for the long term.
The Tigers view Carpenter as part of their future and believe they can contend sooner rather than later.
For all the offensive reasons to keep Carpenter, let's add that he's under team control for the next 5.5 years and he's 25 years old.
Remember the last time the Tigers traded with the Rays? This time, the Tigers have hired a Rays' exec and he will likely be part of the process.
Interestingly enough, the Tigers now also have former Astro execs on board. Somehow I think that the Tigers - now with Scott Harris in charge - will be in a much better and stronger position of negotiation.

The Tigers expect to recall RHP Alex Faedo from Triple-A Toledo to start tomorrow's game.

Let?s Trade Eduardo Rodriguez ? Part 1.
Detroit Tigers: Let?s Trade Eduardo Rodriguez ? Part 2.

I would not trade a valve player without them taken on a burden player.

Bob you are expecting production from guys who would not start or even be backups on contending teams.

Just a few are every day players, the rest are fodder and will be replaced as they fill the team from the bottom minors to the majors.

IDK JAKE MARISNICK found a job pretty quick with a contender Not sure the Tigers are doing the best job? . There something wrong with the approach to getting players on board here.

Overall as you read my responds to the Game thread. There be no joy in MudTigerville this night

Of course the twins get out hit 10-6 but still beat the white Sox 3-2. So aggravating how we struggle against sub .500 clubs. Great 5-2 road trip and come home to see the opposing team hit way better Then we do at comerica. Constantly rebuilding it seems.
But we're sub . 500. We're the underdogs here. Meaning we stink.

Mason Englert just became the first Tigers reliever to allow 10 hits since Greg Gohr did it in Seattle on July 27, 1996. They each allowed eight runs.
