Game 32 Detroit Tigers @ New York Yankees 7:05 EST 5/3

Tiger hitters were so either a really good at bat or a terrible at bat tonight. Colt works (see a bunch of pitches ) a 0-2 bases loaded walk for the 1-0 lead and Spencer does Jack shit with a runner on third and 1 out. And Mckinstry swings at the 1st pitch and is out.

We had 7 BB ! How did we only get 1 run ! It’s crazy .

Oh he did it the previous at bat when both him and Baez were out on the first pitch.
Damn twins win 11th in a row. Kc wins again. At least Cleveland lost.

Boxscore. F'n Tigers get 7 walks and are 0 for 7 with RISP.

Yankees 2 - Tigers 1: Tigers squander too many chances and get walked off.
Reese Olson and bullpen pitched well, but they wasted multiple chances with the bases loaded earlier in the game and it cost them.

Another thing.
Let's applaud the Yankees for being smart. Already a lead off single and after a few pitches the 2nd batter lays down a perfect damn bunt against a shifted infield. Dickerson said our 3rd baseball had no chance.
Maybe Parker could use his legs bunting sometime. Idk a productive bunt is better then a out. Maybe we should try more small ball until we start hitting.

We have to stop wasting such great pitching somehow someway!

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The Detroit Tigers locked up the future of 2B'er Colt Keith to what could be a 9-year contract. When they did this, Keith had yet to play at the MLB level although it was expected he would make the roster this year.
Now that he has played in 27 games (through Thursday), Keith is showing solid promise defensively as a rookie. But it’s at the plate where he is really struggling with a .160/.225/.181/.406 slash line. His OPS is the lowest in MLB for qualified hitters.

It was not expected that Colt would have an easy time at the plate right out of the gate. Struggles were expected. But it was clear that the Tigers want him to learn and gain experience.
Recently, other franchises have been sending down some top prospects for their failure to hit like Jackson Holliday.
What should the Tigers do with Keith? Send him down and delay his development at the MLB level or keep him in Detroit to work things out?

What should the Tigers do about Colt Keith?

1. Send him down to Toledo to work on his hitting.

2. Keep him in Detroit and work things out there.

outside of Greene, the team was 2-27. That's a whopping 0.074 batting average. Can't just pin the blame on Tork. Everyone sucked except Greene!
No but other guys managed to get some big walks. And Tork is still the one who was the number 1 pick so fair or not he's going to get blame. And the fact bases juiced with one out and he struck out.

I see SD traded for Luis Arráez from Marlins. I would loved to have traded for him..

Torkelson is hitting .191/.272/.309 in high leverage situations in his career.

I’m at game three, sitting fairly close, missed the first inning due to subway problems. Tigers are looking terrible so far. Hopefully they get better, and someone starts a game thread; I can’t really do it from the stadium safely.

Reese Olson came into Friday night’s game with the lowest run support in baseball. The Tigers have scored 3 runs for him this season, or 0.95 runs per 9IP.

Olson now has a 2.70 ERA (and 2.72 FIP) this year…and he’s 0-4. The Tigers have lost each of his last five starts.
