Game 5: Packers @ Lions Thread

You will win a lot of football games when you turn opposing teams mistakes into TD's. We're just not used to seeing it.

Nope . I really think with better playcalling we could have over thirty points . I guess you have to give packers defense credit stopping Jbc. I like the hand off inside the ten I just think it works better on first down in a true spread formation. Great catch by Jones and Kenny is a freaking beast so far. What a draft pick.

It would be nice to see this coaching staff try and step on their throats in the 2nd half. Come out and crush all hope.

Hopefully they keep their foot on the gas. I feel like this one is being setup for huge disappointment.

This is just the third time in Aaron Rodgers' career that he's lost two fumbles on sacks in the same game, according to ESPN Stats & Information. The last time was 2015 at Arizona. The Packers trail 24-0 at halftime in part because of it -- along with all the special teams mishaps.

As impressive as Detroit's win over New England was two weeks ago, the first half Sunday against the Packers might be even better. The Lions scored on 4 of 7 drives (three touchdowns) and Matthew Stafford showed a good amount of efficiency. Defensively, though, the Lions were better. Detroit had intermittent pressure on Aaron Rodgers, but had splash plays from defensive linemen Romeo Okwara and Da'Shawn Hand to help create havoc in the backfield. Sure, Detroit was aided by three missed Mason Crosby field goals, but overall it's been a strong first half performance by Detroit -- something the Lions sorely needed.

This is the Packers largest halftime deficit (24-0) since Dec. 3, 2006 against the Jets, which which means this is the largest halftime deficit in Aaron Rodgers' career as a starter.

It's very strange to see Rodgers have this kind of time but he can't find someone open.

Shoot ... call the dang push off.

3rd and 23
4th and 11

Damn it all.
