Well ... the ASG was a more serious affair in 1935 and Biscuit Pants was no slouch. But it seems that some the other reserves were picked ahead of Hank. The ASG was just getting going and I imagine that Cochrane had a choice to make that he and Greenberg likely discussed. In 1935, the manager was the only person involved in selecting players.
