6:30 PM on BTN. First real game of the year! Should be a solid first test as Buffalo is the MAC favorite and a top 100 KenPom team. They crash the offensive glass like crazy, so our guys better be ready to box out. Should be a fast paced game as well. They like to get out and run in transition and Juwan also wants to push the pace.

KenPom projects an 83-66 Michigan W. GO BLUE!

Got really sloppy the last 6 min, but so happens when there is a big lead and Jones pretty much gone half the game. That dude is going to really help against the better teams and Buffalo ain't no slouch. What a catch he is from CC!!

Solid W tonight. That's a good Buffalo team. They should be dancing in March.

1-0!

Defense was atrocious in 2nd half. Waaaay too many wide open 3's. Team needs to gel on D. Lots of new dudes.

Williams may end up taking more of Johns minutes. Jeenathan Williams was destroying (mostly on Houstan to be fair to Johns) us until T-Will was switched onto him with 9 mins left. Jeenathan had 28 at that point and didn't score again until we had the game in hand with a couple minutes left. Not sure we can switch Johns onto wings like Jeenathan Williams, but T-Will can do that. May lead to T-Will being playing more minutes off the bench than Johns plays as a starter. We'll see.

There were too many open threes, but Buffalo's weakness is 3-point shooting. Defensive gameplan may have been more about cutting off transition and points in the paint. Juwan's defense normally suffocates the 3-point line and forces teams to beat us hitting tough 2-point shots. I think we'll see improvement as the young fellas keep getting more comfortable at this level. There were always going to be some bumps getting them up to speed. Just have to keep getting the Ws through those bumps.
