The big ten is crazy to have the big ten championship game in Indy!Soldier Field would be a perfect place for a big ten championship game.Indy cant even sell the place out because it is a basketball state.

i don't blame location. I blame the teams. Nobody wants to see wisconsin and sparty.

Indianapolis sucks.

I like what some other conferences are doing; play it at the better division winner's home field.

This is the B1G; football is supposed to be played outside.

Indy is a great city that has done a tremendous job hosting a Final Four a couple years back. At the same time, Detroit did just host a Super Bowl. But I think it's ok to say Detroit would have been the better choice without saying Indy is a "terrible" place to play the game. You'll be struggling for a long time to justify that stance.

The BIG title should be at the MSU because they beat Wisconsin.

No one would show up there either...

Sorry :)

I'd rather go to Minneapolis than Indianapolis. Indianapolis is just not a very good city to host an event like this.......boring!

Detroit would be my first choice just because weather wouldn't be a factor in Ford Field and there is a lot of nice hotels in their downtown along with Casino/hotels (including Caesars Windsor in Canada). Detroit is a much more fun town than Indy.

And then there is Chicago......which would be my first choice every year if they had just fucking built a retractable dome for the bears instead of that monstrosity of a stadium (Soldier field looks like a flying saucer landed on it).........Chicago would be TTTHHHHHEEEEEEEEE place to host it EVERY year if they had just built a fucking covered stadium.

Last time i checked the final four is basketball! Indiana local fans could care less about football unless the colts are playing there. If you play the football game at Soldier Field I guarantee you would no problem selling out regardless the team.Big ten football needs to be played outside at a major venue.

Atta boy! Final Four is basketball! Good for you!

But is metro Chicago as big a football fan base as you're giving them credit? Besides Michigan, what games did Northwestern sell out this year? What basis do you have to say that Indiana local fans could care less about football, then guarantee more success for this game in Chicago? How rabid are they about college football? There is no more football-obsessed city than Pittsburgh. Most of us couldn't care less about Pitt. We tailgate for Friday night high school games and Steeler games on Sunday.

If you want a city with stuff to do, Detroit and Chicago are the best 2 spots. If you want a dome, it's Detroit and Indy, with Detroit being IMO the top choice. But Indy isn't as distant a 2nd as you're making it. You ever been there?

And if you want casual fans in the city to go to the game w/o a rooting interest, do you want a December game, at night, in an open stadium?

Pick a position and stick with it.

Really?

I would try again. Indy is great, better night life than "The Cities" and easier to move around in than Chicago. Plus the NCAA headquarters are in Indy, if I am not mistaken.

Either way Indy is great, and one of the safer big cities to visit. If you go make sure you hit up Saint Elmo's and the Palomino Club!
