Brandon had his first multi-hit game of ST for the Pirates, going 2 for 5 (2 singles & 2 Ks and scored a run) in a wild high-scoring 18-9 loss to the Braves today.

If Brandon was worth 10 extra wins for the A's last season, then the Tigers getting "Mr. Clubhouse Congeniality" VMart back, and acquiring the equally loquacious and happy-go-lucky Torii Hunter during the off-season (while losing the dour Brennan Boesch and his bff, the zipper-lipped Delmon Young), that should be worth at least a combined 20 extra wins for the Tigers...heh!!

Inge is presently hitting .140/.302/.326 in 52 PA with 9 walks, 6Ks, 2 homers and 2 doubles. That ain't likely gonna cut it for getting a call-up, even with the pathetic pirates...but "cut" may be the word used with Brandon sooner or later, if he can't even manage to hit above the Mendoza line in AAA ball. Too bad for Inge that apparently even minor league pitchers must have got word to pitch him like he is the Babe.
