Jarmaine Kearse

And please ignore the typo in the title. I know his name, but breakfast got in the way.

If the contract details are right:
one-year deal is for $1.35 million, with $350,000 guaranteed, and has a max value of $2.3 million.

I would say it's a good signing. Solid backup, that has experience with our new OC.

Kearse and Amendola both have low drop rates plus they added a sure-handed TE in Hockenson.

I see a heavy focus on moving the chains and I hope it works out.

Not sure the TE has caught one of Matt's bullets from 5 yards out yet. That will be the true test.

Kearse was on the verge of being a very highly thought of WR before he was traded to NY and the wheels fell of with Darnold at QB.

I think he's absolutely better than the 370 or so yards he caught last year. In fact, I still think he's capable of being a star receiver or near pro-bowl type guy if he's got a QB that can hit the mark.

But, there are a LOT of receivers in Detroit now. Golladay, Jones Jr., Amendola, Hockenson, James, Riddick even... I'm not sure how many balls there will be to go around with the focus being the run first.... but we sure have the capability to hit the short, middle, and long routes at this point.

I will say this... for the price tag, he's more than worth it just to give some guys a breather and have fresh legs on every play.

Oh. That's too bad.

Kearse won’t make the roster. Good vet body in training camp but keep that roster spot to a young player. UDFA can grab 35-40 balls if thrown their way.
