Lions? Kerryon Johnson headed for IR after undergoing knee surgery now activated

I agree with Hughes that I would not be surprised we end up with Kenyan Drake from Miami for a 4th or 5th round pick.

6'1", 211 lb. back that can catch passes out of the backfield as well. He's the best option for the price, IMO.

Guys we'd have to "pay" for......(if they're even available)

Gordon
Mixon
Brieda/Coleman/Mostert.....whichever SF decides it could do without
Eckler
Royce Freeman

Other lower priced options.....again, if available

Duke Johnson
AP (10 game rental, basically)
Ronald Jones III or Peyton Barber
Devontae Booker
And yes, even Ameer Abdullah

Or, we could take the free route, sign ZZ and make him the 3rd string again.....or bring back CJ Anderson

I think Kenyan Drake makes the most sense. Good ability as both a runner and receiver, fallen out of favor for a terrible team. Still young. Wouldn't cost much.

The Lions shouldn't trade for anyone...just sign some scrub off the street.

If anything, the Lions should continue to sell. This team isn't going anywhere. Maybe they should tank for Chase Young.

Though you're certainly right......there is a 0% chance we tank right now.

Schedule lightens up. If we could get a few guys back from injury it would help.

Slay
Daniels
Hand

We've gotten almost no production from players that were expected to produce. Snacks has been invisible. Flowers is completely ineffective rushing the passer. Hand hasn't played a snap. Daniels has barely played a snap. Davis has struggled.

Our secondary has been our strength but expecting them to cover for as long as their being asked to is insanity. You could run out Ramsey, Slay, Richard Sherman, Gilmore and Patrick Peterson as your secondary and they would do an average job if they were asked to cover that long.

I'm dead serious about that. NOBODY in the NFL consistently wins if they cannot rush the passer. And we chose to rush 3-4 guys who cannot ever get free of single blocks and NEVER blitz.

We don't disguise coverages well......play 70% cover 2 man....don't let our S free to try to make plays.....don't knock WR running crossing routes off their route....and don't have LB's who can cover worth a shit.

It's just really bad coaching.

Wouldn’t mind Drake but I don’t think he adds much to the team. Good in the open field but allergic to hitting holes, be ready to get frustrated. An upgrade over McKissic though.

When was the last time a team signed a free agent that the Pats let go and it worked out?
