Lions signed DE Wallace Gilberry, formerly of the Bengals.
Gilberry, 31, was a situational pass rusher behind Carlos Dunlap and Michael Johnson in Cincinnati last year, tallying 23 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble across 16 appearances (1 start). The Bengals did not re-sign Gilberry because his effectiveness dropped off sharply in 2014 and 2015. Gilberry is a depth signing in Detroit, where the Lions still need more talent behind starters LE Devin Taylor and RE Ziggy Ansah. Gilberry is a downgrade from Jason Jones.

I don't feel there is much downgrade from Jason Jones here.... I think he just had a bunch of talented guys ahead of him.... BUT I'm probably wrong since they didn't even try to resign him... Depth is depth though and hopefully he can push Taylor and maybe a draft pick for playing time...

Four words that I thought I would never hear........"downgrade from Jason Jones" ...ugh
