Miguel Cabrera Wins the 2012 AL MVP

I heard a radio interviewer from ESPN that said a week left in the season he took a poll, 9 out of 10 GM or baseball personnel thought trought Trout should win but of players, 9 out of 10 went Miggy.

Cabrera was definitely worthy. Unlike, say, Zoilo Versailles in 1965.

Nice to see Miggy finally get his. He's been dominant for a decade and it would have been unfortunate if he somehow lost this year. Credit to the voters. Trout just picked the wrong year. Last year he probably would have won. I heard Wojo on the radio on my way home from work and he said this would be like giving the MVP to someone else the year Bonds hit 72 home runs. You had to give it to the triple crown winner this year.

You really can't compare that year to this year for Cabrera. The year Bonds hit 72 home runs he had almost 13 WAR despite negative fielding and average baserunning. His offense alone at a premium offensive position was so good that he was miles better than the next best player. Miguel's season although great doesn't even compare to that season by Bonds offensively.

Steroid to non-steroid it does. Nonetheless, I think he was comparing more about the HR record and TC. Things that don't happen everyday.

To suggest an award should be given to somebody based on the rarity of their achievement, rather than the value of their play is pretty lol.

I bet you didn't mean to say pretty. But this wasn't just solely on the TC more like a tie-breaking method voters used. "Miggy and Trout both had great years, hmm.who to vote for add in the TC, bam" type of conversation.
