When Maeda struck out counterpart Nathan Eovaldi in the top of the 16th,
it was the Red Sox's 18th strikeout of the game, setting a new World Series record.
The prior mark was held by the 1968 Tigers, who struck out 17 times against Hall of Famer Bob Gibson in Game 1.
Boston hitters struck out 19 times in Game 3, while Los Angeles struck out 15 times. The combined 34 strikeouts are also a World Series record.

The top four spots in Boston's lineup went a combined 0-for-28, with leadoff man Mookie Betts contributing an 0-for-7 line and No. 2 hitter Xander Bogaerts going 0-for-8. That set a record -- regular season or postseason -- for hitless at-bats by any team's top four hitters in the live-ball era, according to STATS.

I really didn't watch much of the WS. I caught part of game #2. I was pretty surprised that they pinch ran for JD with Kinsler.

More WS for more former Tigers'. JD, Kinsler, Price - anyone else?

a 5 game series...no drama, fewer viewers.

But wasn't Boston-LA suppose be this big event? 5 game series didn't have anything to do with it.. average viewers not total viewers. I think. Though I'm not sure how they do that.. Viewer needs to watch a certain amount of minutes for Nielsen to kick in or what.. But I'll go with what I previously said, many people hate Boston and LA outside their fan base and won't be interested. Or it could be people just don't watch the playoffs as much. Last years series was down from the previous years series. Of course that one had the Cubs in it..

Also, they had an extra inning game, a comeback 9th inning game, and another 2 run game. And a game that was close until the end. Not sure about the no drama.

the lowest ratings for series are 5 game series or sweeps.

They rate by game. So all game one's are the same. That's what average means.

Boston's five-game World Series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers averaged 14,125,000 viewers on Fox, down 25 percent from last year and the fourth-lowest ever.

4 games below the average, 1 above. Average. Boston's 5-1 win in Game 5 on Sunday was the most-watched game of the Series, averaging 17,634,000 viewers. The opener averaged 13,800,000, followed by 13,507,000 in Game 2, 13,250,000 in Game 3 and 13,563,000 in Game 4.

right, they average them out. Game 6's and game 7's have the highest ratings...especially game 7's. Those games will bring the average up.

Any series that only goes 4 or 5 will have shitty ratings.

That's not what I meant.. I don't have the exact numbers for all games but this is what I mean..

"The three-hour primetime Game 2 drew 13.46 million viewers with a 3.3/15 rating among adults 18-49. That?s down double digits from the Game 2 of the 2017 World Series when the Dodgers lost at home to ultimately series winning Houston Astros. Taking a 13% drop in total viewers and 21% in the key demo from last year."
