I've never understood these threads. Not criticizing, I just don't get it.

How can it be a "mock draft" with just one team. You aren't really taking into account what the picks in front of those will be, you're just kind of picking guys that would fit the Lions who might go in the round you list them at.

Or is this just a "Gee, I hope we can get these guys" kind of thing?

I don't understand.

I don't understand.

They're picking players they want based on what they think we'll be there at the point the Lions draft.

Most guys in the draft have "projected rounds" of being drafted in, so guys like to debate who they think will be available and who the Lions should pick with each of their picks. Pretty much everyone in this mock so far has taken into account what players will be picked in front of those or else you would see like Trae Waynes and Randy Gregory as our round 1 pick for most people, but as I said people understand they will not be available when we pick. These are just everyone's opinions on who we should get and who they want to get based on our needs. I guess I just don't understand what you can't comprehend about these "Lions mock drafts".

I wouldn't mind if this exact scenario played out. Wouldn't mind one bit.

i like mine cause it covers all areas. I feel that if they DONT resign Suh they will resign Fairley and maybe Mosley as well. And if they do resign Suh they will need to draft a battery mate for him. Davis should do just find with our Dline coach. the oline then becomes the top problem to solve. Drafting Clemmings will cover either tackle position. Matias can be used as the new LG to replace Sims.

Jones was outstanding in the Combine being in the top preformers in every category but 2. Vertical and broad jump he was THEE top preformers. he wasn't in any in the mock drafts but i feel he shot up the boards as a result of his combine. 4th round pick should be ideal for him.

Tony Tippett, MSU's star WR. an excellent choice for our new #3WR/. Waters will cover our need for either a new #2/#3 QB. likely #3 since i feel detroit will sign a veteran #2. Ivory strengthens the DTs.

Mayhews draft

1 trade up for White wr
3 draft a rb with a serious career threatening injury
4 Best TE
5 Trade this pick for Mike thomas

Hughes' trolling technique:

1) Say something bad about Mayhew.
2) Set hook in LKP's mouth.

Works every time.

Based on a few mocks I have saw today, Jones goes in the 2nd, Mathias, early 2nd

This is what I ended up with from first-pick.com

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 23: Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State (B+)
Round 2 Pick 22: Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State (A)
Round 3 Pick 24: Josue Matias, OG, Florida State (A)
Round 4 Pick 23: Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami (Fla.) (A-)
Round 5 Pick 22: Jeremy Langford, RB, Michigan State (A)
Round 6 Pick 24: Tre McBride, WR, William & Mary (A)
Round 7 Pick 23: Terry Poole, OT, San Diego State (D)

I know it's very unlikely to get Waynes, but I like how it turned out.
