No Fans at March Madness

If you’re a player how do you even get up for this? As an underdog you feed off the crowd behind you, how do you replicate that in a glorified scrimmage?

BTT restricting fans after today. They really butt fucked all the people who already traveled to Indy. Not surprising with this conference.

Honestly, how much good does restricting fans do? A tiny bit I?m sure and likely impossible to quantify, but all public transportation is still operating, every bar, restaurant, retailer, theater, fitness center, ymca, etc is still open. So many variables that I can?t imagine eliminating this one makes a tremendous amount of difference.

They should give everyone who has shown up and been turned admission to an Indy sex club where they can all watch the games together on TV.

Yeah I’m torn. Better safe then sorry I guess but it feels like overreaction. ..

From what I understand is events where there are thousands of people in a confined area is like an incubator. Then, they disperse into a wide area. This particular virus stays alive on surfaces as well. Having 20,000+ people cram into a small confined space and then all go in different directions is exactly how you get something like this to spread rapidly, and to a much larger geographical area. Canceling events like this is a smart way to slow it down.

I’m supposed to be going to Vegas next week for the opening weekend. I’m starting to question if that will be happening, I would still go but I can easily see watch party events and casinos shutdown. I’ve never done the Vegas trip opening weekend either so selfishly this would be absolutely crushing to me. If they refunded damn near every nickel then I’d be more ok with this thing being cancelled.

Nba just suspended the regular season. Things are going to get boring. Not that I watch the Nba once the Piston are out of it.

Ncaa will cancel the tournament within the next 48 hours. That is my prediction sadly. Hope I am wrong but it really is the only safe way to go forward.

I guess. Just didn't seem to do much for Italy.

I agree that March Madness will end up being postponed/cancelled this year. It's unfortunate, but it seems to be the safest measure to mitigating the impact of this thing.
