No such thing as sanctity of marriage, or at least there has not been for hundreds of years.
It's a legal contract, nothing more.

Are you married or have a significant other? The sanctity of marriage is based on a personal commitment. It demonstrates good moral character.
The sanctity of marriage does exist. Who cares about it being legal or not, it's not even the government's business.

That's bullshit.
If there was such a thing as sanctity of marriage there would be no adultery, no divorce, and no getting married more than once.
I know plenty of couples who are not married that meet more criteria of morality than married ones, they just decided they did not need (or want) some contract or some religious doctrine to govern how they live.
And don't get me started on "good moral character", it's a false definition because the same people who always claim to have/support it, are the same ones who have the least of it.

But all the people that do it either want to kill their wives or get a divorce...so theyre going to hell too.
