didn't realize they had an early game. Skubal seems to be pitching well. Bats silent as usual.

Unlike most of Skubal's starts not many K's.

Around 100 pitches after 6 innings.

I would've taken Skubal out after that 40 pitch 4th inning. Time to start protecting your young players.

I heard the announcer say that 24 of Skubal's pitches in the 4th were after Castro booted a foul ball that would have been out #3. Is that correct?

Tigers pitchers Alex Faedo (hip) and Kyle Funkhouser (shoulder) will both be undergoing season-ending surgery, manager A.J. Hinch said.
He expects that both will be OK for spring training 2023.

Every single subtle part of winning..every little nuance the Avila roster lacks, and its lacked those aspects since they signed Mike Pelfrey and Mike Aviles.
It's the hallmark of the Avila FO since day one, that abject addiction to all the wrong qualities of winning baseball.

Everyone's favorite Tigers analyst MGorosh

Candy knocks in both Tigers runs.

Isn't it interesting that 24 hours after an unflattering interview with Detroit Tigers' Jeimer Candelario and the very bad year he's having, he's turned into a consistent hitting machine? Maybe another writer should now interview Jonathan Schoop.

there is a long list of guys that need that treatment!

Disappointing to see that sports writer Lynn Henning took Ken Rosenthal's scoop on the Detroit Tigers telling teams that Tarik Skubal is available for trade. Henning presented the idea as his own and gave no credit to Rosenthal.

Henning is the same guy who wrote that A. J. Hinch had an opt out after this year which turned out to be false. He never issued a correction and avoided addressing the topic in a related article.

Need further proof that the Detroit Tigers rebuild is failing? Ken Rosenthal reports that several MLB execs have told him that the Tigers ?gave us a blanket that just about everyone is available...? to be traded before this deadline.

The report also states that Tarik Skubal is available. He is the only dependable and best starting pitcher on the roster. A desperate move by a desperate GM who now understands that the current rebuild strategy is a dismal failure.

The scariest part? That Avila will be in charge of any transactions. He has yet to win any trades he oversaw in the past 7 years. This will end up badly.
Chris Ilitch needs to step in and appoint someone else to oversee any trades.

Totally Tigers

looking at both Rosenthal's "scoop" and Henning's report, both came out on the same day. Rosenthal cited "sources". Who's to say that both don't have the same source? It is very plausible that the Tigers themselves leaked this to stir up some interest.

Tiger scouts . ?Don?t worry Baez can hit a slider, Plus he plays great defense ?

lol

Al is the worst Gm in baseball.

Don?t want to say I called it but oh boy was I absolutely spot freaking on about bum ass Baez. He is going to go down as potentially the worst FA signing in franchise history.

He's never been this bad at either in his career. This is an organization issue more than player issues. The entire lineup is having a horrible year. Not just baez

Did Hinch really just take the only hot bat out of the lineup for Baddoo to pinch run? Candy isn't that slow
