send Smoker this article...

Every single hitter is underachieving except Austin Jackson and part timers Laird and Dirks. That includes Cabrera, Fielder and Avila who haven't been terrible, but under expectations. Guys like Boesch, Peralta, Raburn and Young have been total crap.

Think about it, if you were to guess each hitter's production, there would be 3 out of 14 at or above where you'd expect. And that's just 1 regular.

It's the same argument every year. Somehow the manager is supposed to fix this by tinkering with the line up, or not tinkering with the line up in some cases. Be more consistent, move Boesch down, put Dirks in, take Raburn out, Jackson is a terrible lead off hitter, no wait he isn't, ....and on and on.

Sometimes the players blow and the only thing you can do is hope it lasts for a short time.

Dirks days at part time would be over imo, he should start and play left field and bat 2nd period. as far as a Boesch and Young goes, send both their asses to Toledo until they hit as we can fill their spots with just about anybody, neither is hitting and neither are good fielders so call someone up. Peralta is down a little from last year as well we all know, but replacing him at SS will be tuff. Raburn has to flat out be given away, he's a cancer on this team with his bat and his glove, and Avila seems like he just goes thru the motions in the field and at bat,he has no life in him at all, I say sit his ass as well and let G-Money have a shot at catching, at least with G-Money you know he's gonna try his best. Cabrera ain't off to a terrible start and only get better, as will Fielder. Now the bullpen is a different story, this thing is in shambles.

Some things are constant with the slow starts.... Leyland and his coaches have been there every year we have started slow or finished poorly other then 2006 and 2011. Players do need to perform but when you continue to put out a player like Raburn in the line-up game after game early in the season when I have already shown he is the very worse second basemen with 50 or more plate appearances is on the manager and hitting coach too not just the player.... Raburn is 35 out 35 at second base with 50 at bats or more... He should be sent to Toledo like they did in early 2010 or cut like Inge. His second halves just don't justify how much he hurts the club the first 3 months of the season.

Concentrating on just Raburn is rationalizing, in my opinion. You pick a whipping boy and go with it. The fact is that most of the team is underachieving, Raburn included. And no one is stepping up to knock Raburn out of his spot, either. Ramon has around 50 PA's and Raburn around 75, so both have a small sample of terrible.

Let's face it, the problem could easily be explained with "Andy Dirks is leading the team in OPS". There is some blame for the big boys, too.

Holy fuck...did somebody seriously say bench Avila and start Gerald fucking Laird?

Stupid idea.

Inge tried his best.

So is everyone else out there, the idea that Laird is any sort of replacement for Avila just shows you;re in hyper-panic mode and not thinking rationally, if you ever were.

After all, everything is Leylands fault anyways, right? :ugh:

I am not just singling him out.. There is plenty of blame to go around but to leave Leyland off the blame page is laughable.. The very worse player right now this team is Ryan Raburn. I have no idea what the answer is but to keep playing him is not a very good option right now. I just cannot believe how many people give Jim a pass..

Of course you single him out. Almost all of your posts are about Raburn. We get it, he's not playing well. Neither are the guys that would replace him. And all of it somehow is the fault of the manager. Right.

Could bring up a guy and see? Worth maybe? Try something, anything.

i refuse to read that article, Bill Simonson is a retarded assclown. Theres a reason Rogo from DNR calls him the Troll King. Without even glancing at it I can tell you he's bleating "best nine" or some shit over and over again and blaming leyland for everything under the sun like usual.

Its the mangers fault he continues to play a guy batting 127/.192 /.169 /.361 or is it it someone else fault. At least Boesch has 14 RBI's..... Second half savior has only 2... Heck Young has 5.. Raburn is 35 out of 35 at his position. In my book that is last place and another player deserves a shot to play.... Sending a message to your minor league and younger players that you may never get a shot because old crunchy teeth wants to keep playing a guy with theses numbers. 127/.192 /.169 /.361.

So yes it is the mangers fault he keeps walking up to home plate with his name in the line-up.

What you are complaining about now is the domain of the General Manager. Make up your mind about which non player is the problem. Expecting the manager to spin gold from the choice of Raburn, Santiago and Worth is unrealistic and is hate for hate's sake.

Worth didn't get a chance this season, none. So throwing him in this argument makes no sense.

exactly, its not like we even have anyone to replace raburn. santiago and worth are both part-time players at best and we have absolutely no-one in the minors who could come up and replace him. if anyone is to blame for this, its dombrowski for not finding a suitable 2nd base option in the offseason.

Brent Dlugach is in Toledo again. He hasn't gotten a chance, either. Worth has shown he can't hit at the minor league level, to expect him to shine in the majors is unrealistic. Why not give Cale Iorg a shot while we are at it.

Raburn is the only one of the second base options that has proven he can hit at the major league level. It sucks that he's been terrible, but changing him out for guys that you have no expectation of success is not really a good answer to the problem.

You mean like 2012, .309 .387 .600 .987. Good numbers for Worth. Lol.

That's great, Mitch! You can use the google!

Those 62 plate appearances have raised his career minor league ops to almost .700!

It's fun to be a troll, look at Mitch go!
