That last at bat by Miggy was sad. Hit well but knowing he has no more pop in his bat.

37 of the first 40 games this year are against teams with a winning record last season.

Dang. Maybe the Rays are just really good?

Today, another opportunity for readers to discuss the hottest topics in a forum where thoughtful dialog and a variety of opinions are welcomed.

Let?s create some running conversational threads. And for those of you back in actual offices, here?s a question to take with you ? or use via Zoom ? as you talk to your co-workers.

Here is today?s topic??..

The Tigers continue to be concerned about whether Jonathan Schoop can recover from his worst year offensively. He did not have a good spring training or WBC performance. In 2 games, he has yet to get a hit but has 4 SOs.

After his first game, A. J. Hinch said that Schoop would platoon with Zack McKinstry but the latter is also not known to be an offensive power, even though he has several hits in the first series.

Ideally, each position should have both a LH and RH hitter for ideal pitching matchups. McKinstry is currently the only LH 2Ber. Should he stay with Schoop? Or should Nick Maton (LH hitter) move from 3B to pair with Schoop?

If he does, it would mean that Tyler Nevin (who is having a great rehab session) and Ryan Kreidler would move to 3B. Both are RH hitters.

What should the Tigers do this early in the season? (DFA?ing Schoop is not an option just yet.)

What is the best solution for second base?

1. Keep Schoop and McKinstry together.

2. Move Maton from 3B and pair with Schoop. Put Nevin and Kreidler at 3B.
