The Tigers are getting their first turn through the AL East out of the way early, as they?ve already faced the Red Sox, Rays, and Blue Jays and have gone a combined 1-8. They?ll play the Orioles this weekend and again next week, but weirdly don?t face the Yankees until the final week of August.

Crappy Throw by Spencer can?t get runner at home plate. Tiger hitters fail Tiger pitchers
Tonight and Tigers lose 2-1 in walk off grounder to first.

Team is so unexciting that I turned it in in the 9th inning.

I don't understand Holton was pitching well only threw 18 pitches and you had to take him out at that point. Am I missing something?

In one of his first official trades, PoBO Scott Harris traded Kody Clemens and closer Gregory Soto to the Phillies in exchange for Nick Maton, Donny Sands and Matt Vierling.

Here are their stats (through Thursday):

Kody Clemens: .063 BA and .180 OPS

Gregory Soto: 4.32 ERA and 1.080 WHIP

?

Nick Maton: .151 BA and .621 OPS. Maton leads the team in HRs and RBIs. Playing 3B primarily with some 2B. Excellent defense, speed.

Donny Sands: Catching in Toledo

Matt Vierling: .231BA and .619 OPS. Playing CF and RF. Excellent defense and range.

How would you grade the trade?

How would you grade the trade between the Tigers and the Phillies?

1. Good to excellent

2. Average to below-average

3. Poor

Orioles 2, Tigers 1: Close but no cigar.
A tight pitcher?s duel saw the Tigers tie the game on their final strike, but lose it in the bottom of the ninth.

This woman LOVES her some Scott Harris. She really did spin the question so people would lean toward the good to excellent with the way she portrayed the Tigers players and didn't give any context to how Soto has been playing.

Soto has been excellent for Philly with the exception of his first game, the opener, in which he was absolutely terrible.

In his 9 games since the opener, 1 H, 1 ER, 12 K, 4 BB, 0.60 WHIP, 1.08 ERA

I would say at this early point, average at best.

It's funny saying we won the trade because a couple of . 620 OPS. My take I like the other qualities like defense but none haven't done much. I can't tell what Sotos done, 1 inning can effect a pitcher early in the season.

Batting coach to batters.
When you see the ball, think of it as an enemy beat it to death with the big stick you have in your hands, and hit it! These strike our/waving at the ball does not work. Baseball is really a contact sport. Hitting the ball is ok. Try it,it may help.
