Tigers @ Royals Game 87 July 11, 2022 Game 2 of 2

Tigers zip in the 6th. We wasted a golden chance in the 5th. Just a slow footed team.

If they don?t come back they are soon to be 0-4 since shaving Santiago?s Head.


Kansas City pitching gives up 5 runs per game. Not when they play us. This is maddening how poor this team is pushing runs in.
 
What good was taking 4 from Cleveland if you?re going to piss it all back losing to the white Sox and royals, this fken team

And both Chicago and white Sox pitching has not been doing well.
Except when Detroit comes a knocking. I mean whiffing.
 
A 33 and now 34 win team is sweeping a doubleheader from the tigers tonight.

After the game, the Tigers announced that Kody Clemens was optioned back to Triple-A Toledo, while Akil Baddoo has been recalled. The speedy outfielder has been on a strong run with the Mud Hens after finally getting over the oblique issue that hampered him early in the year.

July 11th,

I made it all the way to July 11th this year before letting the Tigers piss me off. that's a record. I think it was allowing myself to start to become hopeful with a smidgen of expectation again after they swept Cleveland. Only to squander that all away the following week. oh well, back to zero expectations again.

It's been a disappointing year. Three of the top 4 from the rotation have not contributed. Two due to injury and the third because he decided he just doesn't want to help the team. The front office panicked when Greene went down and the guy they got hasn't been a help. A bunch of the players that hit well last year have been terrible. They traded for a catcher who has also been a bust. Their biggest free agent acquisition has been up and down, but mostly down. Their #1 overall draft pick has been in over his head at the plate.

The only real bright spot on the team is Greene.
 
The Detroit Tigers continue to have 2 starting players lost for the foreseeable future - and for different reasons. One has 2 more years with the team. The other has 4.

Eduardo Rodriguez signed a 5-year contract and is currently on the restricted list. He and his agent have not communicated with the Tigers for a month or returned their messages. It appears that due to deadlines, he will not pitch again for the team this year.

Austin Meadows, after suffering all sorts of ailments, had another setback today and has been sent to Lakeland to further recover. He started only 31 games for the Tigers this year and came in a trade for Isaac Paredes who leads the Rays in HRs w/13.

Following tonight?s game the Tigers optioned UTL Kody Clemens to Triple A Toledo. Prior to tomorrow?s game, the club will recall OF Akil Baddoo.
