Bruce Rondon is feeling ok, Leyland said. He tweaked his back slipping on mound last night.
The whole bullpen, including Rondon, should be available tonight. It's possible Benoit could make an appearance regardless of score tonight.
Report on Octavio Dotel from Hens last night also suggests he should be all right after taking comebacker off his leg in rehab outing.

What if Nick rakes in September? Then come playoff time, we're downgrading our offense. It would be smart to call Nick up right now and atleast allow him to be playoff eligible.

Not sure how it works, but wouldn't that speed up his free agent clock?

That's a big "IF" though. If he tanks, than you will have had to send someone down or DFA them to make room for him on the roster, making them no longer eligible for the playoffs.

We have come this far with the roster we have, plus the DL guys who would be eligible still, it seems like too big a risk. Call him up on Sept. 1st, and give him his look, but I don't see him putting us over the top as far as the playoffs go.

He has to be added to the 40-man roster (has to sign a major league contract, if he hadn't already), regardless of whether it is before or after 1 September. The difference? As I understand it, if it is before 1 September, this year counts as one of his 3 option years. Not sure that is a good idea.

Technically speaking, DET does not have to add Castellanos to the 40-man roster until after the 2015 season. Once added, it is hard to remove a player without him going through waiver process or becoming a free agent.
