8 games DET has scored..14 runs..
6 of them were scored last night.

DET has lost 9 out of 10 and scored 23 runs. including today.

not including 0-3 today.

The Tigers have announced the following roster moves:
*Placed OF Akil Baddoo on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain.
*Recalled INF/OF Nick Solak from Triple A Toledo.

Here?s Matthew Boyd?s ERA by time through the order this year:
1st - 2.73 (including today).
2nd - 6.53
3rd - 14.73

Spencer Turnbull. Who didn't know he had an injury until the Tigers wanted to send him down to AAA. He won't return until mid-August at the earliest. Pretty much makes it impossible for the Tigers to trade him this year.
He's got 1 more year before Scott Boras takes him to free agency and due an arbitration raise for 2024. If he's not pitching again this year or continues to struggle, don't be surprised if the Tigers DFA him.

According to Harris Nick Solak fits the bill in what the tigers are trying to do at the plate

WTF

https://motorcitybengals.com/posts/detroit-tigers-claim-nick-solak

Solak is one of those players who had his 5 seconds of fame. He's a former New York Yankees second-round pick from the Louisville in 2016 MLB Draft. He broke into the league with the Texas Rangers and was a serviceable player. In his lengthiest big league performance, Solak slashed .242/.314/.362 with 18 doubles, two triples, and 11 home runs over 511 plate appearances in 2021.
In 2022, Solak would only play in 35 games, struggling to find that level of performance he showed in 2021. He slashed .207/.309/.329 over 95 plate appearances. In 2023, he notched just one game with the Braves organization.

Great obp Scott . lmao.
Is there a reason we are not seeing the two best prospects the tigers have ? If the two words are service time it really shows Chris isn?t trying to win at all. At least call up Justin Henry to dh for crying out loud.

DEEPER DISCUSSIONS.
Totally Tigers

The Detroit Tigers are going through more struggles and have now lost 8 straight. There are variety of factors that have put them in this downward spiral.

The team has lost some significant positional players like Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter (until 2 days ago) and Matt Vierling. Pitchers like Eduardo Rodriguez.

As they have lost these players, it?s been harder for the organization to fill the holes either from within the roster or from Toledo. They continue to suffer from a lack of depth.

And offense is even harder to find. They have only scored a total of 14 runs in their last 8 games.

All three of these factor into the Tigers losing streak. But which one has created the most damage for the team?

Today?s blog addresses this dilemma and allows readers to share their thoughts in more detail. And hopefully, to actively engage with others by responding to their posts and creating back-and-forth discussion threads. The more the merrier!

For this one blog only, you?ve got 6 sentences max to share your thoughts. Of course, you can respond to other readers as well.

TT will supply the ammunition. One thought-provoking question. Several options provided. One hard choice to be selected. One vote.

Ready?

Which factor has contributed the most to the Tigers' losing streak?

1. Too many injuries.

2. Lack of depth in the system.

3. Lack of offense.

this team was barely decent at full strength. Once the injuries started it was like the bottom fell out of the box.

sucks to be THIS bad though... to go from being around a 0.500 team at full strength, to being 0.000 after a couple injurises
