Delmon Young is back in the lineup for the Tigers against Ubaldo Jimenez, off whom he’s 10-for-23. Andy Dirks, 2-for-15 off Jimenez, sits. Brennan Boesch sticks in the fifth spot, with Young behind him.

With the addition of Tigers outfielder Andy Dirks, manager Jim Leyland said he would make out each day's lineup based on pitching matchups.
That's exactly what he did Saturday.
Delmon Young is back in the lineup at DH, batting sixth behind Brennan Boesch and Dirks is on the bench as the Tigers continue their three-game series against Cleveland.
Leyland forewarned reporters about the move after Friday's game, pointing to Young's success against right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez. He's 10-for-23 against Ubaldo, compared to Dirks, who is 2-for-15 against the right-hander.
With Dirks on the bench, Quintin Berry receives the start in left field and Boesch will return to right field -- a day after going 2-for-5 as the club's designated hitter.
With another right-hander on the mound, Boesch will make his third straight start as the No. 5 hitter behind Prince Fielder.
from Mlive

One night after a 2-for-4 return with a run and an RBI, Tigers outfielder Andy Dirks will take the night off.
Brennan Boesch is back in right field and Delmon Young is the DH as Detroit goes for the weekend series victory over the Indians tonight.
Doug Fister takes the mound, looking for his fifth win in six starts. He's at 5-7 with a 3.77 ERA, but has four consecutive quality starts, a span in which he's given up just six runs and struck out 31 in 30 innings.
The lone loss in that span, however, was against Cleveland (seven innings, three runs).
Right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez starts for the Indians, sporting a 1.93 ERA in three starts against the Tigers. Overall, he's 8-10 with a 5.08 ERA, walking 72 batters and striking out 94.

2-15 or not I'd still rather see Dirks than Young.

That said, can we please, pretty please with sugar on top, for once actually hit Ubaldo like other teams do and not make him look like Walter Johnson once again?

same here, I'd rather see Dirks over Boesch as well.

Prince Fielder just hit a ball into the Wildcat Bleachers during BP.
where is that? upperdeck in right?

Looks like it might start raining shortly after start time, red band coming up from the south/west for later as well

Ubaldo against the Tigers this year 1.9 something, everyone else north of 5, we need to knock that off tonight.

Ajax is easily the best I have ever seen at going after balls hit over his head.

His glove is the place triples go to die.

Damn, Bosch can flat out haul ass when he wants to.

And of course the one night I can finally watch the game again it starts to rain

They need to make this a short delay, because there is an absolute deluge of rain to the west. Hopefully 2 plus hours before that moves in.

Stuff to the west looks significantly lighter though, at least on the radar.
