Tigers vs. mariners Game 131 September 1, 2022

Here's the Tigers' OPS by batting order position this season:

1: .613
2: .668
3: .628
4: .654
5: .615
6: .564
7: .706
8: .563
9: .576

There's a big difference between a player in a hitting slump and one who literally and physically can't hit because of his knee.
Miggy is the latter.
Miguel was 4-for-50 with a .080 SLG from July 27 to Aug. 26.

Mariners 7 - Tigers 0: A lousy way to end a series.
Rodriguez didn?t have it today, but Rodr?guez sure did.

The lowest WAR to ever lead the Tigers in a season was 2.0, by Candelario in 2020, when the team played 58 games.
The lowest in a full season was 2.2 by Hal Newhouser in 1952.

The Tigers leader this year is Javy Baez at 1.3, with 32 games to go. History in the making!

Via Stathead, the Tigers are averaging 3.3 runs a game this season.
That is tied for the second lowest in franchise history with the 1905 squad.
The 1904 team, who finished 62-90, has the lowest at 3.1 runs a game.

I agree, but the result is the same. Also, a healthy guy in a slump can get out of it, an injured guy that isn't going to get any better should be put on the IL. I have no idea why they haven't done it yet.

No reason to IR-15 day DL etc. someone in September.

Detroit Tigers fans are pretty much over it.
Woodward Sportts

Even with the Seattle Mariners in town this week, attendance was scarce among the Detroit Tigers fan base.

Tigers' 18th shutout of the season ties them with the 2018 team for most in the Comerica Park era. The franchise record for the modern era is 20, set in 1975.

DET has 76 HR on the season and a .107 ISO
