WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY.
Totally Tigers

Today, another opportunity for readers to discuss the hottest topics in a forum where thoughtful dialog and a variety of opinions are welcomed.

Let?s create some running conversational threads. And for those of you back in actual offices, here?s a question to take with you ? or use via Zoom ? as you talk to your co-workers.

Here is today?s topic??..

Home run celebrations are taking over MLB with players honoring the man who hits a home run. Many involve gifting him with a costume to wear as he parades down the dugout.

Some examples of what teams do:

Baltimore Orioles ? homer hose

Boston Red Sox ? inflatable dumbbells

Kansas City Royals ? superpower hero mask

Los Angeles Angels ? samurai helmet (for Ohtani)

Milwaukee Brewers ? cheesehead crown

Pittsburgh Pirates ? sword

San Diego Padres ? polaroids of the HR hitter celebrating to hang in dugout

Seattle Mariners ? trident

Spencer Torkelson came up with the Tigers? idea: A Red Wings helmet, gloves and hockey stick. Ironically, a symbol of the other team that Chris Ilitch owns ? a hockey team.

What do you think of the Tigers? choice of celebrating homers? If you?re not crazy about it, do you have a better idea?

What do you think about the Tigers' choice of celebrating homers?

1. Love it!

2. Lame.

Terrible!

My better idea: Act like men and not boys. Abandon the silly kabuki.
