Tyler Alexander, who tossed two perfect innings of relief for Mud Hens Tuesday night, will pitch in relief Friday and Saturday in Toledo. The back-to-back outings will likely be his final test before return from the injured list.

Jos? Cisnero will begin his rehab assignment with Mud Hensb on Thursday, pitching in relief in same game that Eduardo Rodriguez will start.

Joey Wentz, who last pitched in Tigers doubleheader May 31, remains sidelined with neck/shoulder issue.
"It's kind of similar to a pinched nerve," A.J. Hinch said, "where he's getting some sensation through the shoulder based on what's going on in his neck."

Avila has done a really good job of stocking the system with really good arms. They need to turn some of the arms into bats now and I'm not sure I trust him to do that. This is a crucial time for the franchise. He fucks these trades up and we'll be back 5 years again.

They have some pitchers to be excited about and a lot of young guys in the minors, or just starting their big league careers, that have a lot of potential.

It sure would be nice if a hitting prospect would come up an blow our minds away with his plate coverage and discipline. Maybe this Carpenter kid. He has 20 dingers.

Never wanted that but still don't think he's a good closer. He's inconsistent, too emotional, so extremely wild. He gives the opposing team many opportunities they don't earn. He's a great bullpen arm but not a closer and he makes that clear nearly every time.

Lets review in 220 games Hinch/Fetter have taken multiple arms who failed under Gardenhire or other orgs..optimized them into one of the best BP in baseball..Hinch has trusted Soto to close has 12S 1.70 ERA hasn't allowed a run in a month..but not a closer..LOL..facts..
