Tigers vs. Royals Game 157 September 26 2023

Pathetic

Spencer (Great for him)

First 90 Rbi guy for the tigers since 2017.

And that is why I am shocked Chris can?t figure this out this out sooner. So many losing seasons. Frustrating we can?t win this division.
If they had the same schedule from last season and before where more division games, would have been closer. But they need to figure a way to beat the east.

Cabrera gets an 8 year / $248M contract, and during that contract, only has one year with more than 75 RBI and only one year with more than 16 HRs.

He hasn't had a whole lot of help either, like where are all the Tigers gone. JDM, JV, Brown and Blue eyes, JU, just to name a few.

I do think the Tigers win the division next season.

Yea they are going to have to fill too many wholes next season.
1 Cabrera retirement 6 best batting average.
2 E-Rod opt-out best wins record.
3 JOSE CISNERO FA
4 4th starters Got to get someone off the IL.
5 5th starter someone got to show up no more bull pen starts!
6 Replace just everyone batting below .230, wow to many to list.
7 Austin Meadows
8 Baez need help in so many ways.

Bob is making the assumption that the other teams in the division aren't going to try to improve as well, which is a mistake.

Cabrera leaving will make the team better, regardless of him having the 6th best batting average. He contributes nothing defensively and has no power. Just replacing him on the roster with someone that can play in the field and hit some HRs will be a bonus.

Replacing E-Rod will be a problem.

The problem is that in reality, MN is much better than Detroit. They are 210 runs better in terms of run differential. That is a huge gap. Even Cleveland is better even though their record isn't.

Bringing up some minor league players is a crap shoot (Malloy, Keith, Etc). The odds of all of them contributing in a positive manner in their first year are slim.

In all likelihood, the Tigers will not win the division next year. Hopefully they can get to .500.

Dare to dream ! I expect a big lead next season. Make it so ! Who to say the Twins don?t faultier next season.
Tigers have money to spend. Maybe ER opts in. Maybe his family loves Detroit!

I really hope Fetters stays.
Miggy gone is a huge plus for the club. Frees up a lot of money.
Jose Cisnero isn?t the same anymore. His replacement is in the system somewhere.
Need to find starters who can stay healthy.
Need to get rid of Baez.
Not sure on Meadows. Maybe he gets a year in the bigs to figure it out like Spencer.
I?m super worried about Greene. He is becoming a injury prone player.
