Nevin ph and fails swings at a awful pitch way off the plate inside. Weak pop out can?t even get a sacrifice fly.
McKinstry again a Tiger hitter swings at the first pitch and fails with a guy who is not sharp.

Tigers more lobs tonight. Just awful situational hitting by Tiger batters with a runner on 3rd and less then 2 outs.


Miggy can?t hit the mistake hanger. Man 10 years ago Miggy smokes that ball.

Frustratingly he will be 0-1 unless we score a bunch of runs in the 9th.

Joey Wentz made the Opening Day roster this year due to an injury to Michel Lorenzen. He stayed on the roster as Matt Manning and Spencer Turnbull also hit the IL.

Wentz has had a rough going. In 11 appearances, he has 1 win and 5 losses. His WHIP sits at 1.68 and his ERA is down slightly to 7.28. His last game showed improvement in all the important stats.

In 2022, he had 7 starts and finished with a 2-2 record, .303 ERA and 1.10 WHIP.

A. J. Hinch has stated that Wentz will remain in the rotation while they work things out to get him going again. But realistically, the Tigers have lost so many starting pitchers that they are hard-pressed to bring up someone else.

Joey was drafted by the Braves in 2016 and traded to the Tigers in 2019. He?s had experience for parts of 2022 and 2023 and has only started 18 games. He?s 25 years old.
