It wasn't an easy route to the Big Leagues for Kerry Carpenter!
The Tigers rising star recalls his journey as a 19th round pick and how his self-belief helped fuel him on his path to a starting role in Detroit.

"Well, you make it look and sound easier than it actually is..."
- Kerry Carpenter on receiving advice from Miggy.

Sometimes a team's standing in their division doesn't tell the real story. Esp. when your team is in MLB's worst division, the AL Central. Currently, the Detroit Tigers are in 3rd place but 11 games under .500. Only 1 team is above .500
Against the NL, their W/L % equals the Mets and Pirates - both 4th in their divisions. Against the NL West, they would rank in between the 4th and 5th place teams.
But the Tigers are on a pace to be much better than 2022 when they finished 30 games under .500. They were the 3rd worst team in the AL and 6th worst overall in MLB last year.
Totally Tigers

Congratulations to Justin-Henry Malloy on being named the International League Player of the Week!
He?s homered in each of his last four games for the Mud Hens.

Spencer Torkelson is pulling his way to success.
The second year first baseman has room to improve, but his more pull heavy approach has him primed to be a long-term force in the Tigers? lineup.
BYBTB

Since May 25th Miguel Cabrera is batting.
.291/.355/.407 which is good for a 112 wRC+
4th best hitter in that timeframe behind
Kerry Carpenter - 147 wRC+
Riley Greene - 120 wRC+
Spencer Torkelson - 112 wRC+

That was an umpire-assisted half inning for the Yankees. Clearly not batter interference on the double steal attempt, and clearly not strike three on McKinstry.

Ah, now YES network clarified the call; it was UMPiRE interference on the steal attempt that sent Baez back. Scratching my head on that one.

That it's a rule at all? Or that you don't think it was Umpire interference?

Malloy was pulled from tonight's Toledo game. Either he's filling that 40th spot and coming up or hurt lol

Neither, actually. Think about it. I wish they had a video up so we could see what the interference was.

Hey, i know.

Lets put cisnero in.

Can we bounce this fn guy already.

So Diaz has a 5.05 era with Toledo ? Why not call up the hitters if we have no pitching at Toledo ?

Diaz looks better Cisnero . Was he a starter or reliever in Toledo?
