When are the Mets finally gonna give up on Timmy ever panning out as even a mediocre major-leaguer? Since the only reason that he has stuck around for 4 years is b/c he is a RW evangelical xtian with a large national following of like-minded fans who are politically and religiously aggressive, and the Mets brass wanted to cash in on his popularity.

He's not on the 40 man. And even if he was I doubt the Mets have 40 worthy players in their organization.

He has in the past, and will again, if the Mets intend to keep him around for a few more years. You doubt that they have 40 who are as or are more worthy than he is? By what measure? Just still being popular with a certain segment of the US population? The longer that he fails to make it onto a spot on the 25/26 man big league roster, the less that he deserves to block anyone else from being on the 40 man.

I know in Syracuse he sucked, but still had a strong fan base. Every time he did anything, even bad, the fans cheered. And yes, if anything, he means money in the seats, even at AAA.

He would have to be on THE ML ROSTER all year. He would be a top 25 guy. Even with the possible profits it's hard to see a team using a spot on someone who obviously doesn't belong.
