I think Lewan did say something immature, impulsive, and ugly. Something someone might say if they were angry because they thought their friend was being wrongly accused. I have my own opinions about what happened, but I think what Lewan is supposed to have said indicates that he believes in his friend's innocence. Regardless, we're talking about something he is supposed to have said to a third party.
