The legendary great Yogi Berra passed away at age 90. One of the greatest bad ball hitters of all time, Yogi would swing at a pitch down by his ankles to over his head and struck out just over 400 times in over 8000 at bats.

Many Yogism's include, "when you see a fork in the road, take it".
"People don't go there anymore, it's too crowded".

"It ain't over 'til it's over"

I guess it's over.

RIP

Reminds me of my dad whenever we were watching a sporting event and our team was behind (especially the Tigers) he would always blurt out to me "You know what Yogi always says"

"Yes dad I know what Yogi says"!!! Then he would yell it out... I mean every darn time we were behind.. When i was little I would say "but dad that is baseball" He would counter.
"It does not matter the game is not over yet". LOL

Good memories..

"What time is it?"

"You mean now?"

You'll remember the story from Ball Four that Yogi had the good fortune of continued financial success after retiring from baseball, but nevertheless continue to drag around the same ratty luggage he had used for years.

"Say, Yogi, with all your money you should really get yourself some nice new luggage."

"Nah, what for? I only use it when I travel."

It's too bad so many people will only remember him for his silly sayings, not the fact that he was one hell of a baseball player, and a catcher to boot.

yup....I know he was a great player but the first thing I think of when I hear his name are all of the funny quotes he gave us.

Yeah, I didn't mean people here btw. I believe most here are pretty knowledgeable for the most part about baseball. I just meant the majority of the public who when you say Yogi Berra don't realize how respected he should be even if he never said a single Yogism ever.
