Warford, other Lions get their due from PFF

Stafford was top 5 passer per PFF
Lions coverage was top 10
Tulloch top 5
PFF knows

yet somehow we missed the playoffs in an injured NFC North.

Lions were plenty injured.
Missing 3 starters/nickel/3rd WR on average in 7 wins
Missing 4 starters/nickel/3rd WR on average in 9 losses (that extra starter was either Calvin, Bush or Houston).

those are typical injuries for almost every team in the NFL

LKP, I used to be a lot like you back in the day as an early Lions fan. I would always look for reasons to cover up the failure. Got unlucky here. Only if this would have happened like this. We lost an important guy in week 3, and were never able to recover. I would reach down deep to find excuses. I hope one day you'll understand how this franchise works.

"Lions were more injured in losses to more important people. This team is loaded in talent.
The Lions? 2013 season did not collapse because of a lack of talent. In fact, there is a very strong case to be made that the Lions have the most talented roster in the division. ProFootballFocus posted an All-NFC North roster based off of 2013 performance and 11 of the 26 spots went to Lions, no other team had more than six players named. The Lions? issues have been of the intangible variety and it is no coincidence that Caldwell?s strength is the intangibles. Talking about the importance of accountability may sound clich?, but the players are already responding to the changes in the environment."

You'll learn man. All you ever hear with this franchise is changing the culture. Getting smarter. New system. It's the same tired nonsense I've heard as a Lions fan for as long as I can remember. Until they can show us what a winner is, all the stats, excuses, and cliches are irrelevant.

All I care about is talent level, not what happened in prior seasons. Especially since we have new coaches with new schemes. And these new coaches are good at reducing turnovers.

Just because they "blew it" in 2013, doesn't mean jack for 2014, only the talent does. And stats and tape we have a ton of talent. 2012 they weren't as talented as thought due to Best/Delmas not playing and the DE play falling off a cliff, 2013 they are that talented just need a tweak. The Millen years they just weren't talented.

I'm curious what the excuses will be if the lions miss the playoffs. Not enough talent? Bad coaching?

Depends on what happens. I always watch it twice or more for the refs and see who is on the field.

This could all be avoided if they reviewed in the booth by the NFL officiating office Pass interference (O and D),chop blocks and blocks in the back. And allow 2 challenges a game for a missed call (non penalty that should be a penalty).

he will have a ton of excuses.

here are some that might be new next season

1) Lions have the talent but it takes time to get used to the new schemes
2) First year coaching staff

Nope Lions have the talent to win with this staff. Schemes shouldn't be a problem. Only way possible if there a bunch of wrong routes run. Then it's obviously a reason. Wrong route is hard to determine though. They pretty much have to come out and say it.

what you don't seem to be able to comprehend is every team has bad calls and injuries...not just the Lions. You seem to think that the Lions are on the wrong end of the calls and are always more injured than any other team.

There's going to be a big fk you I told you so from lkp if we ever do win a playoff game. I can't wait..reminds me of this kid I knew when I was younger he thought he could predict game scores so every week he'd guess and miss until one day, he was right. And for two years he'd be spouting off "I was right back then, you know I was." I hate that kid..

I question the list when the DPOY is #80 and Tom Brady is 90. I can't stand Tom Brady but I know there isn't 89 better players in the NFL.
