Phillies @ Tigers 5-23-2016 Game 44

The Tigers have hit back-to-back home runs for the fifth time this season (last, May 17 vs. Minnesota).

MiguelCabrera has hit multiple homers in a game for the 36th time in his career and 3rd time this season (last, May 20 vs. TB).

MiguelCabrera now has 27 multi-HR gms with the Tigers, 3rd most in club history. Only Hank Greenberg (32) & Cecil Fielder (29) have more.

MiguelCabrera hits the 500th double of his major league career. He's the 62nd player in MLB history to reach 500 doubles.

STREAKS AND STATS:
Miguel Cabrera's home run in the third inning marked his 10th of the season. He later launched his 11th in the fifth inning for the 36th multi-homer game of his career. The second homer marked the third time this year Cabrera has had a multi-homer game. His last multi-home game was on May 20 vs. the Rays.

Cabrera's second home run gave him 27 multi-homer games with the Tigers, third-most in team history. Only Hank Greenberg (32) and Cecil Fielder (29) have more.

Cabrera's double in the seventh marked the 500th double of his career. He's the 62nd player in MLB history to reach that mark.

J.D. Martinez's home run in the fifth was his 10th of the year. It's his fifth homer in the last eight games.

Cameron Maybin has reached base at least twice in all seven games played since being activated from the disabled list. He has recorded multi-hit games in five of those seven games, and has struck out only three times during that period.

Cabrera's and J.D. Martinez's back-to-back homers marked the fifth time the Tigers had gone back-to-back in a game. Their last was on May 17 vs. the Twins.

Not that wins are a good stat to measure pitchers...but Pelfrey hasn't had a win in 17 starts.

He has only 1 Quality Start in his last 17 Games Started. He has gone at least 6 innings in just 4 of those starts.

It's nice to be back to .500 but it's going to take a lot for them to get into playoff contention. Upton will have to pull his head out of his ass and the pitching staff is going to have to do the same. I actually have more hope for Upton. He has always been a very streaky hitter...it seems that his shit streak happened at the start of the season. For example, last year he hit .196 for the month of June and .162 in July. Maybe this year those shit months just came at the beginning of the year.

This is true....but the money goes to charity so it's a tax write off.

All of it? I give to charity but I don't suddenly get all of it back..

Plus I'm not sure what net proceeds are but I'm thinking that means not all will go to charity..

net proceeds are the difference between the value (cost of hoodie & hat) vs what they pay.

Example:

Hoodied $120
Hat $35

Total = $155

If the winning bid is $5155 you can write off $5000 as a charitable donation. Of course you can only write off a % of your gross income. I think it is 50%
