Game 126 Tigers vs. Yankees August 24, 2017

And I had just got done with reading about bosux beanballers' history vs the Tigers' players, Freehan geting HBP a team record 3x in one game. Both of those ballclubs play dirty when it suits them. Hope that the suspensions cost the skanks the diviision, and eventually a WC game loss. Tigers have nothing left to play for, unlike those stupid arrogant fools in pinstripes. Looks like Martinez was trying to be diplomatic with dirty sanchez and a couple others, but Castellanos and Verlander weren't having any of it.

An Ex-MLB Catcher said on MLBNetwork that after the warning was given, teams would never purposely throw inside for fear of hitting someone and getting tossed, especially in a close game.

Once Austin Romine got tossed, and after the warning, Dirty Sanchez was the catcher that NYY had when McCann and Hicks both got hit. Whether the pitch was called from the dugout (Girardi) or by Sanchez himself, either way, the McCann HBP was on purpose.

If all of this is "unwritten" rules and Girardi/Ausmus being ex-catchers, it certainly makes me wonder. Assuming if you believe the ex-MLB catcher, who has no skin in the game and played for neither team.

I wonder what the suspensions will look like

My opinion

Miggy 3 games
Sanchez 6
Betances 1

Most pundits are suggesting Sanchez should get 10-15 games (cut in half when it is obviously appealed). Miggy will get 5-7 games and Wilson will get at least 1. Betances is between 1-3. And Girardi will get a nice fine for criticism the umpires and how they handled things.

Whether we like it or not, MLB needs to set a precedent. Clearly Sanchez should get at least double of what Miggy gets. Despite what Austin Romine may have said, Miggy took the first overt action. 3 games for Miggy is not setting a good precedence.

Miguel Cabrera suspended 7 games following Yankees brawl.
Alex Wilson and Brad Ausmus also netted suspensions for Thursday’s intentional beanball.

MLB STATEMENT
Here is a statement from Major League Baseball:

Discipline has been issued to members of the Detroit Tigers and the New York Yankees as a result of the bench-clearing incidents during Thursday's game at Comerica Park in Detroit. Joe Torre, Chief Baseball Officer for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.

Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has received a seven-game suspension for inciting the first bench-clearing incident and fighting.

Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez has received a four-game suspension for fighting, including throwing punches.

Tigers pitcher Alex Wilson has received a four-game suspension for intentionally throwing a pitch at Todd Frazier of the Yankees while warnings were in place for both sides.

Yankees catcher Austin Romine has received a two-game suspension for fighting, including throwing punches.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus has received a one-game suspension for the intentional actions of Wilson while warnings were in place.

All five individuals also received undisclosed fines as a part of their discipline. Others who were fined for their actions during the incidents were Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Yankees bench coach/acting manager Rob Thomson, Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner, Yankees pitcher Tommy Kahnle and Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias. In addition, two members of the Yankees, first baseman Garrett Cooper and outfielder Clint Frazier, received fines for entering the field while being on the disabled list.

Unless appealed, all suspensions are scheduled to be effective tonight, when the Yankees are to host the Seattle Mariners and the Tigers are to visit the Chicago White Sox. If any player elects to appeal, then the discipline issued to him will be held in abeyance until the process is complete. In addition, if Wilson chooses to appeal his discipline, Ausmus' suspension will be effective the same day that Wilson serves his suspension, if any.

No games off for bettances, FU Joe Whoree FU.

Joe Torre is a fucking tool. To not even fine betances and only give that sucker punching clown Sanchez 4 games is so laughably biased it's not even funny

Miguel Cabrera career vs the Yankees 19 HRs, 48 RBIs, .320 BA, 1.013 OPS.

Fuck the yankees.

Pedro Martinez says Gary Sanchez will be a marked man after throwing cheap shots at Miguel Cabrera in Yankees-Tigers brawl.

I am stunned as to how one-sided the suspensions are. From an outsider looking in, I don't think any of the Tiger suspensions/fines are out of what was expected by most. The Yankee suspension/fines are a joke. Betances not receiving any games sets a bad precedent. And if Romine gets 2 games for fighting/defending himself, how does Sanchez only get 4?

As I heard, Miggy has all kinds of friends throughout MLB. They will not take kindly to Sanchez' sucker punches. Sanchez will be a "marked" man the next few years. Fans, players, etc will be all over his back. If he is playing on 23 September, I know I plan of giving him an earful.

I am shocked as well. I do understand Miggy getting the 7 games since he started the entire thing but if Miggy gets 7 I think Sanchez should also get at least 7.

Girardi and Betances should also have been slapped with @ least one and four game suspensions respectively, due to "warnings already put into place" and even doing so after what had already occurred on the infield.

Torre and whoever else made these hypocrite decisions can go fuck themselves with a rusty ice-auger.

I read that Judge drop-elbowed Miggy while he was being dog-piled on the basepath....PoS lunkheaded coward. Hope that he falls out of the lead for HRs and RoY next month.

I'm still not sure why their guy got 0 games and Wilson getting several. They both hit a guy after warnings to both teams. Has to be Joe Torre. Next season use the BP to start vs the NYY and hit Sanchez every time he comes up.

Wilson admitted that he hit the guy on purpose...the other guy claimed it was an accident.

I don't see the difference. Usually a guy hits a guy and gets ejected, after warnings, he gets something. Plus he hit him in the head. And hit him good. As it was explained earlier the guy has impeccable control with his fastball. Accident my ass..
