Game 152 Tigers @ Twinks Sept. 17, 2014

Sale and price both sucked tonight.. Price really gagged under the pressure. ..

Miguel Cabrera 4 for 5 tonight, he has reached 300 or more Total Bases for the 11th straight year. only Gehrig 13, Mays 13, Pujols 12 did it for more years in a row.

This series was massively disappointing.

are any of you guys concerned we have 4 games left vs these chumps to end the season?

could be a critical series.

Damn 24 hrs ago jd hits a blast. .. Then Mr nibbler crushes our dreams again with help from his caddy and now we have a 2 game losing streak going into kc.. frustrating as hell

I am worried and anything short of 3 out of 4 is a failure

I've been concerned with this Tigers team since the beginning of June.

Some of us have been concerned since March.

I hate feeling like debbie downer, but I have questioned the makeup of this team most of the year, and really felt like our window was closing and or closed.

And to be perfectly honest, if we are going to miss out, I'd rather we just tanked the rest of the way rather than suffer a gut-wrenching heart-breaker at the end like in 2009.

And I really wish I didn't feel this way.

Since June 21st (81 games, half a season)

I have not felt good about this team since the bull pen fail last playoff failure. Tigers have not fixed the pen.
Tigers setup man and closer are a combine 6-9. the rest are 15-8. Why are the best the worst!
You don't have a closer you got nothing.

Frome ESPN article.

Very true and very depressing IMO

"In some fashion, when Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski traded for David Price, he was making a bold statement: This is the year. Playoffs in 2011, World Series in 2012, one Joaquin Benoit pitch from maybe going back to the World Series in 2013. But no championship.

In dealing Drew Smyly and Austin Jackson to acquire Price at the July 31 trade deadline, Dombrowski put two valuable chips on the table. He acquired a second ace to go alongside Max Scherzer, knowing Scherzer is almost certain to depart as a free agent after the season. Designated hitter Victor Martinez, having a career season at the age of 35, is also a free agent. Miguel Cabrera is on the back side of his prime years. Ian Kinsler is 32. Torii Hunter is 38 and also a free agent. Justin Verlander hasn't been good this year and there are legitimate concerns that his top-of-the-rotation days are in the past.

In other words, it's possible the Tigers won't be this good again in 2015 or 2016 or 2017, so ... this has to be the year."
