On July 4th after losing a twin bill to Brooklyn The fell to 26-40 15 games out of first place..They end the season 94-59 and sweep The Philadelphia Athletics 4-0 in the World Series.

That is a amazing 68-19 Plus the 4-0 World series to finish the season starting on July 5th..

That's a .791 winning percentage from July 4th on. They were 15 games back at that point and still won the NL by 10.5 games. Unreal.

At 44-37, STL was next winningest team. In fact, only the Braves and the Cards in the NL had winning records after July 4th.

Pretty amazing.. Unfortunately if my team is never out of it I still root like hell for a miracle...

^^^^^^^ With Ausmus at the helm, it's like expecting General Burnside to lead the Union Armies to victory.
