Kessel already rejected trade to Minnesota.


Nikita Zaitzev (Toronto) has requested a trade. He's got 5 years left at a 4.5 million cap hit. Gonna be hard to move.

Jacob Trouba (Winnipeg) is receiving offers. He is a RFA this summer but isn't likely to sign with Winnipeg. He's coming off a 50 point season as a defenceman and is from Michigan.

I'd take Trouba. We need defensive help. And Trouba seems solid.
 
Reading an article it states that Detroit could have 19m in cap space. That would be nice.
 
There is a chance Wings are over this year, it will carryover to next.

It depends on bonuses.

Next summer, Mantha, Bertuzzi, Athanasiou are all up for real deals so... all cap gonna go there.
 
Skinner - Buffalo close to 8 year extension around $9 million per.

Sure he scored 40 goals and met his career high of 63 points for the third time. But there are a couple things to take into account.

1. He's had concussion problems in the past, making this a high risk proposal
2. 9 million is a lot for a 50-60 point guy whose shown inconsistency in production
3. Overpaying due to UFA status along with goal scoring prowess

Eberle 5 year extension with Islanders at $5.5 million cap hit.

Seems like a very reasonable deal, a steal even if he plays to his ability.
 
Washinton trade Niskanen to Philadelphia for Gudas (salary retention).

Philly gets a massive upgrade on D.

Washington gets capspace to sign their RFAs, and Carl Hagelin.
 
Dion Phaneuf bought out by LA.

Andrew MacDonald placed on waivers, looks like they will buy him out.
 
Hmmm, wonder if Phaneuf would be a cheap defensive option for the Oilers given he is now a free agent with very low expectations.
 
I like that deal for Pittsburgh. Maybe Chicago is in desperate need of defense.
