Detroit-KC starts tonight

Updated

No positional things

However, things are tightening up elsewhere...Oakland has just a 1 game lead over Seattle for the top wild card spot, Detroit is 0.5 game back of Seattle for 2nd wild card spot and 1 game back of KC in the Central.

Oakland dropping fast. Start messing with chemistry is a touchy thing. They have a pretty soft schedule remaining however.

Updated

Detroit and KC move into a tie for 1st place in the Central, they are also technically tied for the 2nd wild card spot (0.5 game up on Seattle).

Updated

KC takes the Central lead, Detroit remains ahead in the 2nd wild card spot.

Boston is officially eliminated from the playoffs

Surprisingly eventful day yesterday.

Tampa was eliminated from the East
Minnesota was eliminated from playoff contention
Oakland lost, which means Detroit is now 1 game back for the 1st wild card spot
KC lost, which means Detroit is a 0.5 game back in the Central

Updated

Detroit takes over the Central with a 0.5 game lead

KC and Seattle are tied for the 2nd wild card spot, both just a 0.5 game behind Oakland (Seattle would host the one-game playoff if the season ended this way)

Updated

KC now solely owns the 2nd wild card spot, 0.5 a game up on Seattle

Houston is officially eliminated from the playoffs

Updated

No positional changes

Chicago is eliminated from the Central

NY and Baltimore still have yet to play since the game is tonight, however that game is mostly irrelevant as far as playoff positioning goes

Seattle-LA starts tomorrow, LA only has to win one game to both eliminate Seattle from the West and clinch a spot in the playoffs

LA clinches the West

KC and Oakland are tied for both wild card spots, if this is how the season finishes, KC would host Oakland since they have a 4-3 head-to-head advantage

KC is now just a 0.5 game back of Detroit in the Central

Updated

KC now has sole possession of that 1st wild card spot

Detroit-KC starts tonight

We certainly don't want a repeat of the 2009, game 163 @ Minneapolis. That one just broke my heart. Obviously, a record of 86-76 is weak for a division winner. (Detroit and Minnesota had this record before game 163)

I forgot to mention

LA basically "eliminated" Detroit/KC from the 1 seed last night, LA will have home field in the 1st round no matter what.
