Had the privilege of seeing him in person numerous times and he was all that and more.

EDIT: I had the occasion of meeting him briefly in 1971 at the All-Star Game. I was a terrified 14-year-old who had little to say, but I at least looked him in the eye.

Such a great player. 16 GG in a row. Holy molly. Fortunate enough to see him on TV his last years. Even saw him in person once or twice. Rest in peace ..

RIP. I remember his World Series where nothing got by him. Hell nothing got by that vacuum cleaner at 3rd base ever !
