Locked On Detroit Tigers Podcast: Some Detroit Tigers news! Minor League Housing, Justin Verlander, and Bally Sports Detroit Booth. 44 minutes.

We have actual news to discuss! First we talk about the new Minor League housing rule and how important it is to baseball.
Then we take a look into the Bally Sports Detroit decision to bring back the broadcast booth for the 2022 season.
Lastly, we end on everyone's favorite former future Detroit Tiger Justin Verlander and what his qualifying offer means for the odds of his return to Detroit.

As for Torkelson, he looks great, adjusting well to changing speeds and showing a solid two-strike approach. He?s still way below average at third base ? that?s just wishful thinking at this point ? but the bat is ready...Law not covering new ground is he..

Tork is hitting the ball exceptionally well. But he also returned to play 3B (in 1 game so far out of 3) in which a scout said went poorly. It's still very early and potentially he was moved there to get his bat in the game.

Hinch said Tork's 3B experiment was over and that he would play 1B. Let's hope he's fast-tracked for 2022. The Tigers were MLB's only team not having a full-time 1Ber. Making the roster this spring will allow Schoop to play more 2B and the Tigers to have more pop in their lineup.

Colt Keith had an impressive first professional season in 2021, putting up a .789 OPS between three levels in the Detroit Tigers system. Who among the pitchers he faced this summer impressed him the most? I asked the 20-year-old infielder that question just before the close of the campaign.

?It would be a pitcher in Low-A, who is in High-A now,? Keith told me. ?His name is Beck Way, and he?s a stud. He?s with the Yankees. When he faced us, he was up to 97 [mph] with a dirty slider and a dirty changeup. I think I ended up getting two hits off of him, but he was the nastiest I?ve seen all year.?

Road to Detroit Podcast: Presented by Carhartt Episode 16: Legends of the Fall
Road to Detroit. 65 minutes.

In our Season Finale, we spotlight the performances of Tigers prospects in the Arizona Fall League. Everyone has a friend who likes to ?keep it real?, and in the Tigers system, no one keeps it more real than outfielder Eric De La Rosa, who provides great insight on what?s led to his rise through the ranks. Pitcher Zack Hess, who spent the season as the closer in West Michigan, also joins host Dan Hasty along with a surprise guest (you may remember him from such drafts as the 2020 MLB Draft) to help close out this season of the RTD. The show also gives out its end-of-season awards with the second edition of ?The Roadies?.
