Detroit Tigers Minor League Notes

Congratulations to Dillon Dingler who has been named to the 2022 All-Star Futures Game!

Congratulations to Wilmer Flores who has been named to the 2022 All-Star Futures Game!

Both Dillon Dingler and Wilmer Flores could be in line for a late-season call-up to Triple-A Toledo, Tigers VP of player development Ryan Garko said.

Garko: "I think at some point, I wouldn't be surprised to see either one touching Triple-A this year and getting a look ... because they've certainly in stretches showed that they're dominating the Double-A league right now."

When 2 prospects who are ranked between 150-200 go to the Futures Game your owner must have connections.

The Midwest League?s West Michigan Whitecaps had a 12-batter stretch that included just one official at bat when they scored a dozen runs in the third inning against the Dayton Dragons on Monday. The frame-opening sequence was BB, BB, BB, SF, IB, BB, BB, HBP, BB, BB, BB, SF. Detroit?s High-A affiliate went on to win 20-1.

AL Central 2022 Midseason Top 50 Prospects.
Prospects 1500

We?re using a new format for our 2022 midseason Top 50 prospects lists. There are five updated Top 50s dropping at once, and these columns will be released by division. Our third column features new midseason ranks from all of the AL Central farm systems:
Chicago White Sox ? by Dan Victor (@slydanno70)
Cleveland Guardians ? by Jim Zele (@zbaseball86)
Detroit Tigers ? by Kurt Moody (@DET_Guru_Kurt)
Kansas City Royals ? by Doug Otto (@hdouglasotto)
Minnesota Twins ? by Dave Funnell (@sportz_nutt51)

For each rank, you?ll see Player Name, Position, Age, Current Level (Preseason rank).

Players are prospect eligible and can be ranked if they have less than 130 AB or less than 50 IP in the majors (as of our cutoff date July 9th). We use these limits as most dynasty leagues have the same thresholds for prospects and minor league status.

We still have each Top 50 list ranked in our Prospects1500 Tiers:

Tier 1: Players with high expectations of both making the majors and playing at an All-Star level for a number of years.

Tier 2: Players with an above-average expectation of making the majors and being a solid contributor.

Tier 3: Players with an average expectation of making the majors and being a solid contributor.

Tier 4: Players who have the potential of making the majors, or have a high likelihood of making the majors, but provide minimal impact (e.g. middle reliever, low-ceiling UT guys).

Tier 5: Players of interest, worth keeping an eye on, who have an outside chance of making a team?s 40-man roster.

Here are Prospects1500?s midseason Top 50 Prospects for the White Sox, Guardians, Tigers, Royals and Twins organizations.

My updated personal Tigers top 30. A few notes:

-The list is heavily influenced from what I've seen both in live looks and via stream.
-Please check the whole ???? for some reasonings on these rankings
-Guys with significant MLB time aren't included (Greene, Clemens, etc.)

If this is your top talent? after 6 years of tanking.. and you have one guaranteed 4 WAR sub 3 year player in MLB I?m think being a MLB GM is likely not your life?s work.

A bonus for Tigers fans in Midland this weekend, as Ryan Kreidler, Detroit?s No. 6 Prospect joins the WMwhitecaps on a rehab assignment. West Michigan plays a 3-game road series against the greatlakesloons.

Kreidler hit .270 with 22 HR and 58 RBI between Erie & Toledo in ?21.
