McCann shooting for flawless season.
With Bryan Holaday slated to start the final game of the season behind the plate, it looks like James McCann will finish the 2015 season errorless in 112 games played.

If McCann does not play (and does not commit an error) on Sunday, he?ll be the sixth catcher in MLB history to catch at least 100 games without committing an error, following Chris Ianetta and Chris Snyder in 2008, Mike Matheny in 2003, Charles Johnson in 1997 and Buddy Rosar in 1946.

? Nick Castellanos made an error in the second inning. He also made a really nice play in the fifth inning when he backhanded a ball near the bag and threw out Mike Olt from foul territory.

? Randy Wolf, Jeff Ferrell, Ian Krol and Kyle Ryan each threw one inning of shutout ball in relief of Norris. Wolf and Ryan each allowed one hit. Ferrell and Krol allowed none.

Norris split nail on left index finger, which happens to him sometimes in cool weather. Ausmus said he already decided that was it after 5 innings.

Norris will get one more day's work before heading to offseason. He'll work with Jeff Jones in Detroit tomorrow on a mechanical tweak.

Ausmus: "They?re going to try to clean some things up mechanically that hopefully make his release point more consistent".

To be clear, Norris isn't going to throw tomorrow. He'll be working on mound on mechanics without throwing a ball.
