Draft Thread 2020

Jets select Texas A&M punter Braden Mann in sixth round

"Mann became the first punter off the board, drafted 191st overall. He also kicks off and had seven tackles last season. (He played linebacker in high school.)
In 2018, Mann earned the Ray Guy Award as the nation?s best punter and first-team All-America honors. His 51 yards per punt in 2018 is the NCAA record."

?Braden is one of the best punters I have ever seen but an even better person and he is team oriented,? Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said. ?He saw the big picture, was a tremendous leader and has a great work ethic. He truly affected the outcome of games. His ability to flip the field and to be able to kill the ball inside the 20 is outstanding. I think he will be a great pro.?

We may have gotten a starting guard 2 rotational pass rushing DT's a new kick/punt returner and a WR who the top CB in the draft said was the hardest WR to play against last season.... Yeah terrrrrrrible day 3 if u ask me...

DL Larrell Murchison
DE Bradlee Anae
DT Robert Windsor
DL Khalil Davis
S/LB Jordan Glasgow

Instead of Stenberg and Huntley, the Lions could have picked from this list of names above. That would have eliminated picking two D-liners that aren't worth a-darn, late in the 7th Round.

Cephus was the Lions only good pick on Day-3. Nobody picks two guards in a row. Nobody picks a kickoff returner in the 5th round.

..... well except maybe you......

Best part of the year for lions fans.

Every player is healthy and on track to improve and have a career year. Draft picks 1st-5th round are NFL starters that reach their potential early year one.

Injuries won't happen and new coaches are brilliant minds.

Maybe the more homerish of Lions fans have, but for most of us longtimers, we know better from decades of experience. I consider myself to be more realistic, than pessimistic or optimistic about this NFL franchise.

But it seems that BQ and MP have managed to finally address needing more depth in areas where previous teams were most vulnerable, and there is still chances that they will continue to do so via FA,post draft cuts, and/or UDFAs.

I love the Hunter Bryant UDFA signing. Could very well make the final 53 and adds a serious red zone threat.

Yep I would say most Lions fans aren't very realistic.

Potentially 6 new starters in this draft.
Swift rb
Okudah cb
Both guards
Kr
...okwara might not start.

But 5 starters and 6 contributors for sure. Needed to fill holes... he's filling holes. Dahl/wiggins might start over the 2nd guard.

Cephus was my least favorite pick. Last time the Lions picked a guy with a dismal 40 time but 'played well on tape' ended up being nothing but a tease.

Jonah Jackson LG. Has some center backup ability too

Stenberg the nasty road grader and next to Big V. Lions running the ball

Dont have to worry about KJ injury killing the running game. Two 3 down backs. Huntley can be the new McKissic and win return jobs if Agnew starts fumbling again

I don't think Agnew makes the team. He was part of the diggs slay goof troop. He gone.

Contract for Agnew. If they find a better backup nickel or just flat out need room.on roster can see huntley taking his place. Plus Ty Johnson can kick return

Okudah trufant Coleman roberts oruwariye then virgin/ford...ya agnew gone.

Yeah Agnew no defense ability. Plus Tony Mcrae added from Bengals..good ster and is a nickel. Could make it over Ford or Virgin. Going to be some good competition in July and August. Hopefully
