Les Miles Fired!!!!

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

If Miles had been brought in as the Michigan Head coach I would have been fine with it.

As things turned out I don't want miles around for anything other than homecoming.

My guess is Harbaugh doesn't imagine that he has much use for miles. I'm guessing what he said it was just a matter of professional courtesy.

I agree. Maybe bring him in to be an honorary team captain. but otherwise there risk of him becoming a distraction is too great.

and I don't know much about Cam Cameron, other than he's been mediocre as OC at LSU and John Harbaugh went so far as to fire him late in a Super Bowl championship season... so what the hell was that about?

I take Harbaugh's reply to mean nothing. The question is about speaking to them and/or having Miles in as an Honorary Captain and Harbaugh is like, "yeah ..I'd love to talk to them."

Says nothing about hiring either at all, and in line with Harbaugh overall

IIRC, John took the play calling duties back and became OC for the rest of the run ....and beat Denver when it was -5 degrees out in double OT.

that game sucked

The Emotionless One, Jim Caldwell, replaced Cameron as their OC.

Cameron's offenses with Baltimore were never good for five years. They were always inconsistent. They probably don't win the Super Bowl if they don't make that move.

They still shouldn't have made it past Denver. 70 yard miracle to Jacoby Jones should have never happened. Rahim Moore's attempt at defense on that play is one of the worst plays in football history.

good point, and I agree that's probably all he meant.

in a mostly unrelated note, my favorite les miles story was related by another former UM assistant (i forget who) who described crashing a Pat Riley post game conference after a loss to the Pistons with Miles. Miles got them in by telling security they were with "The Michigan Daily." Miles asked Pat Riley a question about why his team wasn't tough enough to box out that pissed Riley off, and then more security came in and escorted them
out. ha.

Les Miles should be on TV more! I'd love it if he showed up on Gameday. I'd actually watch that!

I can see an honorary captain thing. But, I could also see an analyst position for the remainder of the year that could amount to as little as handful of long phone calls. Especially if Michigan faces an SEC team in a bowl game...it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Right away college football sites started showing pics of Tom Hermann.

I don't get the sense he's the kind of guy who would jump positions mid-season though... however, Art Briles, IS available now.

LSU firing Miles after 4 games just to hire Art Briles would easily make that program one of the most evil in college football. that would move them past run-of-the-mill SEC liars & cheaters, into a whole new level.

I think Herman has a good thing going at Houston, which may very well join the Big 12 in the near future. The school loves the guy and he seems happy. If he did jump to LSU he would never be able to show his face in Houston again. I don't see him moving to LSU, unless the money is just too big a draw.

He's THE Hot coach right now though ...USC, LSU ...just as a start.

Ah ...right

Happened right in front of us ...fucking by far the saltiest I have been following a Broncos game. -5 degrees, Double-OT and the Broncos blew it! It was 180 opposite of that "pass" to DT from Tebow the year before vs PIT.

But ....all is well now.

I'm curious to see who scoops up LSU's recruiting class. They generally have a good one and I highly doubt they keep everyone. Michigan having a big season could lead to an even better recruiting class from Harbaugh.

Prospects are still in the first half of their final season in high school.

Is there really such a thing as a "recruiting class" at this point?
