@Thompson_Tigers : Cabrera now leads the AL w/ a .330 average and 116 RBI -- would be 1st Tigers player to lead in both since Ty Cobb in 1911.

@KalineCountry to @Thompson_Tigers : Cabrera also leads the AL in SLG, OPS, Total Bases, Runs Created, + Tied XBH's. How Great is That!!

That is a pretty big difference. Maybe CoPa isn't that bad a hitter's park as many want to believe.

It's been middle of the pack for a while.

It limits HR's by right handed batters, but the extra sq. footage makes it tougher to cover and therefore more base hits drop in, and more hits go for extra bases.

yet Miggy has 24 HR at home and only 11 on the road.

I think he has a shot at it,he was way back in HRs a while back ( 8-10) and he's only 3 behind.

Tigers and Angels are off today so Miggy and Trout will stay tied at the top in AVG for now. I wonder how many times the lead will change during this weekend series? Let's hope the Tigers staff will be able to contain Trout as well as they have been up until this point.

Texas plays KC tonight so Hamilton will have a chance to pass Miggy for the RBI lead as well as add on to his home run total.

Yankees play the Orioles tonight so Granderson will have an opportunity to bypass Miggy for 4th on the HR list.

Updated 9/6/12

Meth Breath had a 2-run homer tonight to take sole possession of the home run lead and tie Miggy for first in RBIs.

Beltre moved ahead of Jeter for 3rd in average.

Also Prince has 8 road homeruns opposed to 16 Comerica homeruns. Before the season started I figured his away homers would outnumber the ones at home by a good 3:1 ratio. I figured wrong.

That would be an absolutely ridiculous ratio.

Miggy alone in first in AVG right now.

Encarnacion was the only top-5 guy to homer yesterday.

Still tied with Meth Breath for the RBI lead.

Not a good day for the Tigers OR the Triple Crown bid.

Miggy goes 0-2 with no RBIs before getting ejected by dickhead Helen Keller Timmons. Fuckfish Trout's lone hit is a homer, giving him the lead in AVG.

Meth breath adds to his RBI and homer total, taking the outright lead in both categories.

Prince is one of the 3 tied at 5th with the .314 average.

Triple Crown watch: Miguel Cabrera is 1st in the AL in batting average at .333, 1st in RBI with 129 and 2nd in home runs with 40 (2 back of Josh Hamilton).
Without question, the Triple Crown is in play.
When asked what he knew about Carl Yazstremski was (the last Triple Crown winner, back in 1967), Cabrera replied, "A lot!"

Update 9/18
Miggy is pretty damn close to winning the major league triple crown. If he can out hit McCutchen (who has a .339 BA to Cabrera's .333) and out slug Hamilton and Braun (42 and 40 HRs repectively), he would be the sixth player to have a major league triple crown (batter) with the others being Cobb, Hornsby, Gehrig, Williams, and Mantle. Unless of course Cabrera (roider) qualifies by years end, then Cabrera (drunk) has no chance at it.

Melky will indeed qualify for the Batting Crown in the NL at years end.
