McQueary: [Tom] Bradley told [McQueary] Schiano came into office "white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower."

Am I a bad person for being sort of glad Joe Paterno is dead? There's also a part of me that is disappointed he died, as it would be nice to see him suffer the consequences instead of having the easy way out.

I tend towards the latter. It would be better to have questioned him. None of this "allegations against a guy that can't defend himself" stuff.

I'm glad he's dead.

Given the way he apparently shielded and enabled a child predator for decades, I can't imagine he's capable of feeling shame, empathy, regret, or remorse. **** him, humanity's better off without him.

This. Certain people should be dead earlier as opposed to later.

Maybe he wouldn't have been remorseful, but he also might have pointed a finger a few other people that knew.

...
In response to deposition, Greg Schiano said: I never saw any abuse, nor had reason to suspect any abuse, during my time at Penn State.

Well, I'd certainly be getting McQuery in front of a camera and grill him about what he said Schiano said about what he saw that "made him white as a ghost"

"At no time did Tom Bradley witness any inappropriate behavior. Nor did he have any knowledge of alleged incidents in the 80's and 90's. He has consistently testified as such. Any assertions to the contrary are false. When he became aware of the 2001 incident it had already been reported to the University administration years earlier."

so i just met my wife & kids for lunch at the mall nearby. wife told me some guy (presumably gay) came up to her earlier and said "how much for him? how much for your little boy? i want to buy him! he is so cute!"

I assume (I hope) he intended this as a compliment and was not aware of how ****ING CREEPY this sounds, esp. in light of Jerry Sandusky being back in the news. EEESH... hearing my wife's story made me want to puke.

note to all the creeps who post here: don't do that. don't go up to a parent you don't know and offer to buy their kid. it's just creepy.

What though, is fundamentally new here?

At the time of Penn State's sentencing years ago by the NCAA, it was known that Paterno had acknowledged before being fired that he had long been aware of the allegations and had done nothing at the time he learned about them to address the situation.

So are we finding that the old dead creep was even creepier than the creep we've already known that he was for years?

I don't see what has changed here.

huh. FWIW McQueary may not be the most honest witness. I remember reading about this incident that involved him.

I wonder if anyone else has testified about Schiano and Bradley?

deadspin reporting the judge in this case ruled PennState's insurer is not liable for any claims that originated between '92-'99... so presumably there is enough evidence to allow the judge to conclude JoePa/PennSt knew by then.

If I remember correctly, and I might not, there was some amount of uncertainty in the earlier accusation, the police were involved, and there was no 1st hand witness saying that Paterno knew about an accusation described as anything more serious than horseplay until the 2002 McQueary incident. This account has a victim saying that Paterno absolutely knew ages ago.

The 2nd thing that is new is McQueary's stantment about Tom Bradley knowing and saying Greg Schiano knew too.

The 3rd thing, in my book, is today's letter from Penn State's president which is defensive and seeks to cast doubt on an accuser while acting like they are above attacking an accuser.

Seems to me like a person should be able to be arrested for this. It's like pulling a fire alarm for a joke, or pretending to rob a bank.
