Personal finance class options are around. Again some personal initiative is involved. As I said before maybe provide a list of resources and develop something but remember the typical student isn't a mega millionaire overnight

So he didn't tell anybody that he wanted to leave, but he expected the coaches and administration to know and proactively give him help and advice about how to handle millions of dollars even though, again, he didn't say anything about it. And then the food thing...man, talk about wanting to be spoon fed. But he did HAVE to go to classes, so I guess we should feel sorry for him.

I wonder why he doesn't blame his parents. That is where I learned about how to manage my personal & financial life. How about his agent? I would think that is one of the things that an agent is supposed to help you with.

3) His parents

I know some people said "let's wait for context" regarding this story. There's the context, doesn't really do much good for him. If anything, this makes him look worse.

Jeez, talk about over-inflated sense of entitlement! He "checked out" after his freshman year! Ever heard of the saying "You get out of it what you put into it". He needs to grow up and take responsibility for his own life and decisions. Maybe then he will appreciate the great opportunities he has been given. Maybe then I will take what he has to say seriously.

I don't disagree with the statements about personal responsibility, but after watching that 30 or 30 on broke pros, I think Michigan should be aggressively proactive on making sure it doesn't happen to our players...because it will probably happen to some and it could probably be avoided with the right program and it would be a great recruiting tool if we had a track record of educating players to avoid this.

Hey, I survived dorm food at CMU and it was totally fine. And I was just one of those normal non-athlete dorks.

Hey, I survived dorm food at CMU and it was totally fine. And I was just one of those normal non-athlete dorks.

The dorm food at UofM was fine too. In fact on certain days I looked forward to heading to the cafeteria. Even if the main entree wasn't appealing they always had a little deli section to make a sandwich or something.

Not sure what Burke was looking for. Some prime rib and lobster perhaps?

I just have a hard time believing that Beilein didn't prepare the dude for the NBA. This is the same guy that goes through the entire draft process with them, helps with the agents, etc... If Trey said, "Hey coach, can you help me understand what to expect with the financials?" I don't think Beilein would have told him to get bent. He goes above and beyond to help his guys.

I know...

I lived at the Towers for 2 years and I thought the food was great. It has to be better at Michigan, right?

Of course, Crisler didn't have hot water in the bathrooms for years, so maybe not...

If you remember his physique development from when he came to Michigan and when he left, it is obvious that he wasn't starving...

In other threads in other places, i've read that finance is taught to junior and senior athletes...guess he should've stayed.
