OT: IU Hires Debord as OC

I wish we had ABC for a complete yet completely confusing breakdown

Blehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That screams Rich Rod on a smaller level. Indiana cannot win games lining up and smashing teams in the mouth, that will never work for them. They have to get gimmicky to give teams a game.

At least we won't have another tough game against them. Don Brown vs the most predictable OC? Pretty easy to guess who has the advantage there.

DeBord was joint OC/QBC at Tennessee. In the Bowl game against Nebraska, their QB threw for almost 300 yds & TD, and rushed for 119 more with three (3) rushing TDs.

It looks like Tennesee only had one bad (ie scored fewer than 20 pts) offensive performance all year, against Alabama, which is excusable. in a couple of their other losses, they gave up 40+ pts.

Their offense sucked against App State, Ohio, South Carolina, and Alabama.

Anyway, the Gophers fired Claeys. I called that this might happen in the wake of the sex assault scandal. What an idiot.

I think he gets a pass regarding Alabama, no? and they at least won the App St, and Ohio games.

I'm not saying he's an offensive genius or anything like that, just that he's at worst above-average as an OC. their offense was a lot better with him on the sideline.

the complaints about this guy were always solely about not meeting fans' expectations; they were almost never supported by facts.

I agree. He doesn't run a very aggressive or aesthetically pleasing offense, so there will always be detractors, but he's no Borges. I think people are lumping them together.

I remember him most for taking my beloved CMU chips and delving them into even further depths.
